Got the idea from your first video doing this and did exactly what you do in this video. Cause just half of it cut off serves it's purpose and then dropped a k&n filter in and done

Thank you for this! I am going to do this though it may take me longer than 12 minutes no band saw but I am sure my mechanic son will have something I can use.:-).. I also use the K&N filters that was a huge difference and I upgraded my spark plugs to platinum ones. So will I need to start wearing ear plugs after this mod.

Like I said always wear your gloves that second skin save you from getting stitches it’s very easy to get careless and then those gloves will save the day hopefully

Hi 8n regard to the cheap air box mod don't you need to retune the bike once it's modified as it let more air for the fuel mix or to you think its negligible and dose not require adjustment but said yourself that it change substantially the amount of aire and change the sound of the engine?? I value your reply thks

The ECU on the Ryker is a smart computer it makes changes to the fuel system itself. After doing the mod just crank the bike let it run for 10 minutes and it should make a beeping noise and die re-crank it and you’re ready to ride

Thought the point of the airbox was to prevent water from going down the intake.

You do not want water in your intake that is for sure. But more air That’s a different story.

By making this mod to the air box, won't it suck in massive amounts of water if you get caught in a thunderstorm? I can't imagine that flimsy little filter is keeping all that water from passing through into the engine.

Water suspended in the air is going to get through the baffles too. The air filter will disperse it enough to not harm the engine. You would basically have to be riding underwater. Have seen many open air filters on bikes and owners said they never had an issue.

my 2022 can am spyder rt limit needs some kind of air box mod or just complete removal did not pay all that money for a slug or did I we will see when i get my ECU back from remap to stage 2

IT is better but i was interested in more power at dead stop. but i did find a way to roast the tire off the bike. with out hacking the ecu so now i am happy with my purchase. the bike now launches off the line

@@josepht6274 what did you do. I have a 22 Ryker sport and my dad has a 21 Spyder rt limited. We put a k&n air filter for now. Makes it louder, not noticeable faster

@@benfrank1583 added a separate set of front brakes with a Brembo left hand side clutch lever for a master cylinder this will let you hold the bike and bring up the rpm for a satisfying launch my can am spyder is a 2022 ft with 1100 miles and needs a rear tire the stock tire is verry soft and makes for some serious smoke I plan on replacing with the stock tire for the side wall is softer than a car tire which has its up side for me

A little more air gets you a little more power ! wil even notice more power if you upgrade the filtr also .Tis is a cheap wayvto get a little more power without changing the whole look of the bike with a cool air intake .

I did the same thing but I cut the whole piece off inside.

I’ve done two of them now I did one of them halfway as seen in the video and I did one where I just cut it completely all the way straight across with the bandsaw they really didn’t sound any different I don’t really know if there’s a performance difference
