Today I wanted to get into #BTS or bangtan sonyeondan boys. I wanted to get into RM possibly talking about what happened with Ellen. I think this is very interesting. I also wanted to get into Suga's ring that he was wearing and why this made ARMY's angry. I have a lot of thoughts on both of these so drop it down below in the comments.

EDIT: Looks like BTS' team either refollowed Ellen or there was an error on my behalf. There's was many articles that had reported on this as well and there is a possibility that things actually are okay with both of them but my opinion of what Ellen did still stands. Please keep in mind this video was filmed a while ago and things can change. I've noticed literally the same videos on youtube talking about this same topic, and people giving those channels the benefit of the doubt, but I have to sit here and delete death threats for talking about a similar situation that has possibly changed now and the information is different. Yes I dislike their American interviews because they are mostly just asking who they are and the same 3 other superficial questions like describing themselves or who are their favourite(…) not many of there interviewers ask deeper questions we we actually want to know about. Its started to seem like a waste of their time now!! It was fine when they were just starting out in the Western music scene because it’s what they needed to do… but they don’t need to do it anymore.

At that time they definitely had to ask that, but the American Interwiers didn't, I mean they had done that much which no other artists have done but they still felt that 'what's your coffee order?' more suitable. Since they don't appear in most Korean shows anymore, this is our only thread.

A LOT of people hate Ellen behind the scenes. She’s been accused of being rude/condescending towards guests on her show. And so many talk show hosts couldn’t care less about the guests on their shows and do absolutely no research into who they are. This is why I love Zach Sang. Not only does he bother to learn about who he’s interviewing, but he actually asks thoughtful and insightful questions. I’m so sick of the typical “Are you dating? What’s your ideal type? Who do you want to collab with?” It’s just so obvious when hosts actually put thought and effort into their jobs and some are just in it for the paycheck. James Corden and Jimmy Fallon are like the uncle and dad of talk show hosts. Everyone seems to be so much more comfortable around them than with a lot of other hosts.

Looking back at a couple interviews, the “are you dating” question seems to come from listeners of whatever program is interviewing them. And personally I don’t see anything wrong with the collab question. After all ,they do collab, and although they get asked it (and other questions) frequently, you need to keep in mind that each show has its own listeners. When you see a compilation of a bunch of interviews of course they are going to ask the same question, but their audience doesn’t hear that. I like Zack Sang also. And James Corden of course. He definitely is fan of the people he has on Carpool. Check out the Broadway one where he does the rap “Guns and Ships” from Hamilton. I’ve listened to that at least once a week for the last three years and can only do about 1/4 of it. James nails it.

The dating question seems to be her go to question whenever she "interviews" any of her guests. Maybe years ago that was considered funny, but it's 2021 and hardly anyone finds it entertaining anymore. I’m surprised it took so long before the light was shown on Ellen. She’s almost like a show host paparazzi who doesn’t do thorough research, but oversteps people’s boundaries just to get a reaction or exclusive information. I'll never forget when Mariah Carey was on the Ellen show many years ago (I think it was about 2008?) there were a lot of rumors that she was pregnant at the time. Ellen kept trying to get her to confirm that she was, and when she denied she tried to get her to drink alcohol to prove she wasn't. When Mariah declined the drink Ellen's response was, "Oh, so you are pregnant?". Ellen just wouldn't let it go for several minutes, despite Mariah being uncomfortable. Mariah later revealed that at the time she was actually pregnant, but later had a miscarriage after appearing on the show. Just the idea of doing that to someone who might be pregnant really didn't sit well with me, and I stopped watching the show. Plus she's looked so uninterested while doing it for years now.

It irks me when interviewers don’t do research about their subjects. I’ve seen this happen even with mainstream American celebrities, and it’s extremely aggravating. If they don’t have time to research enough, then why don’t they take the interview time to ask the basic questions that they need answered to be able to then ask more in depth things? It’s so much better to at-least get to know them during the interview, rather than just ASSUMING things and running with it, or asking risky/sensitive questions that are not appropriate even by regular standards.
