If you’ve only listened to two of his songs you don’t know how hard his music are. This album is him experimenting with a different sound. He’s a lyrical GENIUS. You can’t compare just the two songs from RM and you probably listened to more of XG. RM was an underground rapper before BTS. I suggest to check out RM’s songs Joke and Monster.

hello Sir, i am sure by now ARMY (BTS fandom) told you who he is. Let me add: He is Kim Namjoon, the leader of BTS (the best group in the world) aka RM (used to stand for RAP MONSTER, now is for REAL ME) aka God of Destruction aka Joon aka Joonie aka Namu aka the best Poet Rapper aka my bias wrecker. I hope you continue to explore BTS music as a group and as soloists. After 10+ years in the music industry they have more than 300 songs (plus their solo albums). All the members are in mandatory military now but they will come back next year stronger than ever. P.S. Tip of advice from ARMY: Leave all your misconceptions about the music industry before learning/reacting/listening to BTS. I swear it will be worth the fall into this BTS rabbit hole. BORAHAE

A recommendation I have for is a song called Hip Hop Phile/Hip Hop Lover by BTS. It doesn't have a music video, but you can find a performance with subtitles. It's a song from 10 years ago where they talk about all the hip hop artists that inspired them growing up. They name drop a ton of legendary artists in the song. It really shows BTS appreciation for the hip hop artists that came before them.

@@avlthegawd the thing is rm and suga- another bts rapper both used to be undergound rappers active in the k-hiphop rap scene way before they joined the kpop scene. many kpop groups have "rappers", but most are trained by a company to "rap" so its really not the same.

Turn on subtitles. No, he is not . He ain’t K-pop. He is a lyrical genius. He is the best lyricist in the business today. Not k lyricist, but lyricist. His rapper hero is NAS. He also likes the OG rappers like KRS-1 , Eric B and Rakim. Wale. He is not afraid to experiment he is not locked in to a box. He is always evolving as an artist. He is really special. He is fluent in English, but he always speaks his native language and sprinkles English in the songs. His mixtapes are different and his solo albums are different. We never know what we are going to hear. Before his latest release, he said it was going to be completely different and of course he was excited. He also works with another rapper who is a genius producer Suga aka Agust-D.

RM solo song Persona. BTS also used the music from J Cole’s born sinner for their Born Singer song ( watch the live version from 2022 ). Speaking of j Cole, j hope one of the rappers from BTS did a sone with J Cole called on the street. RM also did a song with Wale called Change. RM other albums are Indigo and mono. @@avlthegawd How do you know the person who commented wasn't also American since they didn't say where they were from? I'm American and I love BTS, been a fan for over 5 years now. I think you be underestimating how big they are globally even in the US. They've sold out multiple stadiums in the US, and have had multiple number 1 albums and songs in the US too. And they won Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards, which is quite the accomplishment considering they are Korean. I don't want to scare anyone away from checking out more BTS or their solo music, but just know BTS has been doing their thing for almost 11 years now and they are global superstars.

It’s ignorant to imply BTS/RM don’t fall into the wider span of music, because they literally out-sell and outperform the so-called “biggest artists” promoted in the U.S. media. These men truly know good music; and if you appreciate music, you’d have been paying attention, literally and overall… I suggest not being so shallow when you react to music. “Eric Andre if he was Asian” is the weirdest and most dismissive thing I’ve ever heard. But it’s never too late to better yourself if you want subs and views. Reactors pop up out of the woodwork with such laziness and apathy that it’s shocking. But I guess good luck.
