Hello there thank you for your reaction yes i know the Acom 1000 I have the new Model with the new Disign Acom 1000 is one of my favorite Power Amp....but i need this Amp only for the FT8 and some other aktivities and i think 400 Watt ( pep ) is enough for FT8 and my Homemade Vertical for 40 Meter thanks again and vy 73 de Bert PA5HR

Hello Graham thanks for your Comment and question....i have tested and used this amp only with the FTdx10 from Yaesu and the amp does a good Job....and the Signal is good. The Amp puts 350 Watts out and the FTdx101mp does 200 Watt so the difference is not so much thats the reason why i use this amp only with low Power TRX....the drive Power is only 6 to 10 Watts than you have 350 Watt out from the BLA350 Plus. But the Amp works very fine and the Sugnal is okay no problems with this amp.....now i use this Amp for my Digital Mode FT8 and works realy good an the Temps are very low......there is a good cooling system in it with two Fan ....the max temp is 50 Centegrad than the fan wil working harder and cooling down the Amp.....I hope that was enough information for you wish you all the best Vy73 de Bert PA5HR👍👍

Hello Gilles Coury Marnier Lapostolle I don't know is the Amp working on 11 Meter because i don't have a Transceiver that is working on 11 Meter....but i belief that the Amp does the 11Meter because the Frequency switsch goes to 30 MHZ and maybe the 11 Meter is in between because the 10 meter works also but so as i say earlier i don't know is he working or not on 11 Meter but maybe i can figured out in the next future....thank you again vy 73 de Bert PA5HR

I use one on FT8 with an icon ic7000 with the power turned down to 10W with audio compression turned on. Works OK. Have used it on 40m and upwards, but always worried about the input power level so have a digital meter on the in and out. Have good global coverage. Feels though more like a CB amplifier due to the input power worries. M0JFG.

yes i use it also only om 40 Meter and my input Power is the same 10 to 11 watt only than the amp works fine and gives you 350 watt out thanks for reaction vy 73 de Bert PA5HR

Thank you for the video. I have just bought one to use with my FT950. My radio does not have an ALC socket though. It is not clear in the manual but do I have to change the ALC setting in the amp? 73 Pete G0PNM

Hello Pete i use this amp without any alc cable only one cable for the switching relay in the amp for transmitting thats all and very important the power input is only 5-10 watt and not much more you have max output 350-400 watt. So i don't use the alc cable is much easy to use the amp hope i can help a bit with it Vy 73 de Bert PA5HR

Hi Bert. Thanks for this. I am considering to buy one now. Would you recommend it 2 years later?:) I don't understand what's with the band selection on it however, 2MHz 4MHz, 7.5MHz, 15MHz, 22MHz, 30MHz ? Why not the HAM bands

yes i don"t now why the band selection is not on the ham Bands but this Amp has an automatic switch and goes wel on the right bands for the rest is it a very good Amp and works very fine thanks for your reaction wish you all the best Vy 73 de Bert PA5HR

@@PA5HR1 Thanks for your reply also Bert. You mention about the PTT switch. Does the amp actually need the ALC input from the transceiver, or is the RF input to the amp enough to get it to transmit? I plan to only use SSB voice.

@@pmull252 I can say i use only the RF input and my input is between 6 -10 Watts not more and the output is 300-350 watt so you can work only with the rf input, but you can also use the ALC connection but it works without the ALC connection very fine so hope the information is good for you....wisch you all the best and hope to haer you sometime on the band vy 73 de Bert PA5HR

The manual band selector roughly corresponds to the ham bands and operate accordingly. I never use it since the unit has an automatic frequency detector. The amp puts out exactly 300 watts with 12 watts input, but I only drive it with 10 watts in. It gives me 250 out on the amp, 225 straight key down on CW, and 200+ PEP on SSB. It will go into fault mode if the input is above 12 watts.

@@ronjoseph7973 I actually bought one since this. Yes, it keeps going into fault mode if driving with over 12 watts. Sometimes when only driving with only 12 watts. It's quite annoying.

Thank you my Friend yes it is a very easy and good working little Poweramp and i work very often in FT8 with this Amp my input is between 10-12 Watt and my output 350-400 watt...but maybe i can make an other clip specific about the input and output when i work in FT8 thanks agn vy 73 greetings from Bert PA5HR

Hello there now i work with this amp since 3 year now and the amp is still working i have no problems with this amp because when you have a good tuned Antenne and you have a good SWR than the Amp wil working probably good....so am very glad with this amp because the power is good enough for the Digi mode and the Cooling works realy superb so hope i can help you with my opinion about the Amp.....wish you all the best Vy73 de Bert PA5HR 👍👍

Hello Steve thank you for the reaction yes the pep power is 350 Watt some times and only on 40 Meter goes abit more almost 400 Watt but of the Rest of the bands goes 350 Watt out there works very fine thanks again vy 73 de Bert PA5HR

Hello there yes you can play with your input power ore you can use the ALC cable than adjust your input Power to the 250 Watt....but if you put between 6 and 10 watts the amp wil give you only 250 Watt thats no problem thanks for your question by the way the Amp works very fine thanks for your reaction wish you all the best and Vy 73 de Bert PA5HR

yes it can be used with the Icom 7300 when the power is reduced to 5 ore 10 whats than the Amp wil working properly but you must have a good SWR this Amp is very sensitiv and must have a good swr....but you can work on all classical bands but some bands this amp wil not working these are the WARC banden . The Amp works on 10 meter 15 Meter 20 Meter 40 meter 80 Meter and 160 Meter but this Band i have not try so i don't know exactly of these amp does the 160 Band thank you for asking vy 73 de Bert PA5HR

Thank you very much for answering. I read some incorrect information on a provider's page that said it was only for qrp equipment and that even 100w equipment with low power sent a peeak that could damage the equipment.

PA5HR1 that’s ok just wondering if still hade hade it i’m allreddy think about a second h.f. radio hard to make up my mind it be the 5000 or the 101 mp that one look very nice at this point i think that 5000 in one even know it older mode the 101 no newer thay are completely different radios when look at theam from inside then 5000 is partly soft defund then 101 mp complete different you know what i mean i will make up my mind some how that are both very good radios from the way i see it completely different one all buttons bobs over more like a computer blended whith a radio thay may hard for a person to chose one thanks

Beste Jaap sorry voor het late antwoord maar was druck bezig met andere dingen nee hij word niet te warm en ik heb hem in de somer dagen bei 30 graden niet meer dan 50 grad gehad en dan gaat de cooling sneller lopen zodat het weer onde de 50 graden komt te staan het werkt gewoon en de max power is 350 Watt in FT8 ....bedankt nogmaals en de groeten van deze kant de Bert PA5HR👍👍
