What if my bike doesn’t recognize me pulling in the clutch lever, I just took apart the clutch basket and filled down the grooves(I know it’s only a temporary fix) but I put it back together and it still has the same problem

I have a kawasaki 2021 klx230R will the Nickel trick still work? Manual says 2-3mm but it seems a bit sloppy straight from factory. Thank you

What if I have correct free play but the clutch engagement zone is so close to the grip I can’t put my fingers between the grip and the lever without slipping the clutch.

You will want to check the adjustor on the other end of the clutch cable (by the engine). Once you make this adjustment you'll want to check your adjustor by the lever again and make sure to get the correct free play. Engine should warmed up to adjust free play? I have yamaha yz450f 2013. If i adjust free play on cold engine, all works good until engine warmed up. When its warmed up i have 2 times bigger free play and clutch dont work properly. So if i adjust on hot engine free play, like in your video, all works good, but when engine cooled down, i dont have any free play on lever. Its good, or i have problems with my clutch?

New cable should do the trick sounds to me like your cable is stretched/worn out when the engine is cold your cable will stay stationary, but add a bit of heat to the mix and your cable will stretched due to heat

@@bzurq4207 just noticed on my bike that when I put into 1st gear it started creeping. Checked the cable and play. It was stretched out. New one on the way

So im working on a 2009 kx250f i just rebuilt the motor top to bottom. Bike runs great but im having a clutch issue. It has a brand new oem cable on it cable is properly adjusted and when i pull the clutch in and put it in 1st it instantly kills. Even with the bike fully warmed up. I inspected the clutch and everything looks fine but not getting full disengagement. Anyone know what can be causing this?

Well the problem boils down to whether or not it is adjusted correctly, so I suggest messing with it and seeing what changes by loosening it or tightening it. If the clutch feels jerky it could mean the clutch basket is worn. If I were you I would check if the clutch basket has grooves if so.

There is not a right engagement point. It's all personal preference for what works best for you and your riding.
