Changing the oil on The Honda Talon is so easy. The Polaris rzr and Yamaha 1000 is so complicated. And i have 03 Yamaha Kodiak 400. I don’t know why the other manufacturers made it that why. For sure one day ill get a Honda Talon.

Just got my Talon home and checked the oil level. Without threading the dipstick, it’s above the full line by an inch. Good way to blow a seal and or puke it up into the air box.

Honda Manual- Do not screw dipstick in when checking oil. Remove, wipe, check then re-install dipstick...

You do not ever want to drain the sub trans 17mm bolt? Or just for this interval?

Yes thread dipstick. Your also supposed to start it and let the engine warm up for a few minutes . Then shut it off and let sit for a few then check. This will make a difference in the level

I have a 2019 R. I change the oil myself often. That stupid dipstick. It is so small and when there is fresh oil in there, you cant see the level..That is just one of the complaints I have about Honda Engineering.
