Can $1,000 motorcycles make it 1,000 adventure miles?
Our other challenges didn’t cover a lot of miles, but they were still some of the most fun we’ve ever had. So, does covering more miles mean we’ll have even more fun? That logic may not be the most reliable, but our passion for and experience with ADV riding certainly is. We’ll be taking these project bikes on our Hooked on Phoenix ride, a popular route that takes you from Mesquite, Nevada to Phoenix, Arizona and back. With a mix of dirt roads, technical sand and rocks, and even a little slab, this ride has something for every rider and certainly the right challenges to push these bikes to the limit.
This may be the team’s most ludicrous idea yet. Whether you think they are finally in over their heads or just adding another notch to their belts, you won’t want to miss a single second of it.

Lol. Carb shit is so true. When it comes to buying used bikes. It needs the carb cleaned has about a 10% probability. It almost always means .... ( I don't know what broke... or it's roached) If your buddy ask you to fix his bike. Good chance it's a dirty carb lol but not when buying bikes from strangers

Whaaaat I feel so offended! He bought the DR350N (or R) Model which is insane to ride when in good working condition. And the engine is also a real powerhouse with the flat side carb. I just paid a grand for a DR350N in pieces in Germany as they are pretty rare but sooooo good to ride!

Trust me, $500 was way too much. That think was a pile. I had to put in a new timing chain, carb, Tires, and fix about 10 stripped out bolts just to make it decent enough to sell. - Justin

Of course. My ‘98 dr350 (dirt model) made it across Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas panhandle, New Mexico (south to north) and up to Pagosa Springs, CO. Mostly on gravel…then rode it another few years before I sold it. This was 2005ish.

Was into it until he ditched the DR350. Granted that was a neglected tweeker example of one. But they are great bikes if you give it a chance. Much better offroad then what he got instead.

I am a huge fan of the DR350. I have owned 2 and some of my best riding memories are on them. So believe me when I say that thing was a pile! I couldn't rip anyone off by selling it without fixing it, so I put quite a bit of time and money into it before selling it. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Great watch here! I would have liked the belt drive left on the Kawasaki to see how it does. Heard some Harley riders just loosen them up (so the rocks n dirt just fall out) and they do great. This would have been a good test.

I would take the Enduro bikes like xr and Dr any day. I've rebuilt them many times on a budget. They're the best
