I rode the 5 miles of hell with a few buds. We were all told to carry at least a gallon of water on that 85 degree day. Took off on the trail and the intense stress took it's toll, why? Because I was the only one who heeded the water recommendation. Trying to keep a crew together I gave away all my water, and it turned out those who I gave it to took the bailouts and never finish the heelish ride. I rode the 'hell' ride which is really 16 miles of hell (nobody knows why it's called 5 miles) with a local club to it's endpoint, they all got T-ee shirts, I begged for fuel to get back to camp...by myself. And yes it was all well worth it.

Fel Mel is the best bike, but can Chase ride? Somebody was holding up a cylinder in the last few minutes of Episode1. Was that Fel Mel's cylinder? Chase can do the work even if he's never done it. He just needs a buddy standing over his shoulder telling him how to do it. It's in the rules. It's being scrappy. The 81 yz is pretty cool too. My crew rode those bikes in those years. We loved them, but we rode the YZ465 and 400's. A good rider will scoot on that bike. Amazing how long a 2-sstroke stays running. You should have put in a point factor for the oldest bike. But your rules are fine. Can't wait to see the ride! Put Cody Webb on the worst bike of the bunch, and he will smoke all of you. A bike that keeps running and a good rider, wins! We shall see!

And of course i enjoyed watching you all riding the bikes. Its a great feeling to buy something cheap, fix it up cheap and enjoy it as much as folks that paid 3 times the amount. Not only do you guys have a solid KZbin channel, RMATVMC is by far the best for pretty much any parts for a dirtbike/quad hands down. Not to mention the fast shipping because I'm in AZ, and also the fantastic customer service. I had a 81 mx175, that bike was so tough... I beat the shit outta that poor bike, wide open for a million RPM n it took it. Crank seal was bad, needle n seat were toast , low compression but that never slowed the mx175 down. Dt175 is the same bike but on off version. Banshee left carb fit and work fine. (Left for choke nob)

First time I ran out of gas on my 2001 KTM 300, it took off like the throttle stuck open, kill switch came in handy, thing ran like a scalded ape, didn't realize my carb bowl was leaking.

My last beater bike pick up would be perfect for this type of challenge, especially the fact you’re doing 5 miles of hell. 1986 Honda TLR200 Reflex. Trials based dual-sport I got running and rideable for $550! To be legal for this challenge I’d have had to talk dude down another $50 though.

Bought an xr250l for 350 bucks running back in highschool and rode it like I stole it. Skipped timing and bent some valves. Sold it not running for 150 bucks I think lol. Couple years ago I bought an old 84 RM250 for 350 bucks, rode the hell out of it and sold it for 250. That was the best absolute desert toy I ever owned
