Nice video. Looks like you guys were riding in the Amazon Rainforest-lol. The Yami is almost unstoppable now with the 32" on it.👍 I had a Suzuki King quad 750 for 14 years and it was pretty much flawless. Great 4x4.😎

I haven't snorkeled it at all and I haven't had issues with water getting in. I do have the Mud Busters fire was splash guards and they could be helping but I'm unsure. I so far use Weller racing, Schmity racing, Mud Busters and super atv stuff. A lot of my stuff is also oem but a company who is making some cool rock sliders is JEI Offroad, I'm unsure if I'm gonna try them as I may have a set made for me. Btw I'm glad you found us as well ! our season is just about to get rolling ! Thanks !

Any problems with the clutch on the rmax after this?
@jacobwhitt41513 жыл бұрын
I went 32’s and I actually added weight to mine because the rpms where excessive, weller racing 87 octane tune, hunter works exhaust tip, 22 gram weights and 32inch km3’s on stock wheels, near stock acceleration and the rpms are a good bit lower. More diligent use of low range is recommended though.
@IslandMudSlingers3 жыл бұрын
Great feed back Jacob ! That’s awesome to hear, these Rmax’s are beast. I haven’t done any clutch work yet but I may go lighter myself. Speed isn’t an issue for me. I just want to keep the good belt life. What kind of riding you do ? Just curious if you load the belt up a lot. Also what’s the weight of the km3 ?

@@IslandMudSlingers southern arizona low land desert, rocks and soft sand, super soft gravel in wash outs. Lots of moderate speed travel (30mph or so) if I’m just crawling around I’ll leave it low under 15mph or so and any sort of crawling or climbing I’ll leave it in low. Haven’t weighed the tires yet but they’re noticeably heavier than stock when mounting them. I did the tune and weights at the same time as the tires so I couldn’t tell you what each mod did by itself. Two heavy riders ( I’m six foot six inches and three hundred pounds and passenger is of similar weight) and usually between 100-150 pounds in the bed between coolers, tools hunting gear and such. 1000 miles so far with the mods and no issues. I have the yamaha extended service plan and notified them of the weights and was promised they wouldn’t void my warranty. Though time will tell if I put in a warranty claim and get denied

You drive through a lot of water. Love it. I have a Rmax4 and was wondering what you did about the cvt exhaust?
@IslandMudSlingers3 жыл бұрын
I haven't had an issue yet with water getting in. But what I have looked up is something called frogs skin and its a breathable skin that you can put over the cvt exhaust and it will prevent water from getting in but allow air out.

Awesome Machine and Video Looks Like a Great Time. I have the same machine but the 4 seat unit. 2021 RMax 1000 4 seater. It comes with 29" tires. I was going to but 32 Super Atv Intimidator 32 X 10 X 14 all the way around or the 30". Do you think it will be okay turning them over in the deep mud, I'm concerned about the clutching in reverse.
@IslandMudSlingers3 жыл бұрын
Well rule of thumb is 2" bigger then stock is okay but being the weight is a huge jump I would consider some lighter rollers at the minimum if you went to 32"s. If you go to 30s then I would say try it and see how it feels and if it feels like she's bogging down then I would immediately get a kit.

Have you done anything to seal the belt box or does it come sealed from factory? I’m going to look at a rmax2 xtr Saturday. Do you have any regrets with this machine?
@sootrattlerolloff-road141510 ай бұрын
Rmax will easily turn 32's with no clutch help. Probably still should get around to it, but I've personally had mine in some super binding situations with 32" Carnivors/stock clutching, that the exact same rock garden line smoked several belts on my stock-tired Polaris machines. There's plenty I've gotten pissed at my Rmax for, but that transmission and belt setup just isn't one of them. I'm convinced that's the best transmission/clutch design on the market...at least, in a CVT. 2000 hard miles on 32s, and no hint of stress, whatsoever. I read somewhere that Yamaha geared that transmission to handle 32s...if they did or didn't, it's good with them....do the 2's...2" up on tire size, 2" lift, 2" spacers (that last one will shorten the life of your wheel-bearings, but so will riding in water and mud all the time, but bearing cost is next to nothing) and that Max becomes a real crawler. Of course, disconnect the front sway bar...you don't have a rear one, anyway.

I’ve watched a few of your videos. Looks a lot like Alaska where you guys ride. I’m thinking of getting the Rmax 2 and was wondering if you ever have a problem with swamping it? Have you thought about a snorkel kit? My wife will definitely take it deep in the mud so was wanting the opinion of a owner who rides in comparable environment. How are you liking the Rmax and how’s she do in the mud? Thanks
@IslandMudSlingers2 жыл бұрын
I have never once had an issue with going deep. But I do know my limits. being the exhaust for the CVT belt is right under the bed. I have considered snorkeling it but then that also causes the CVT to run and higher temps. So if you do this... Which I do think is a very good idea for you case I would look into getting a CVT fan. They are fans that get installed into the snorkel ducting and help blow cold air in and can also help blow the hot air out. And I LOVE this machine. Iv road many side bys and worked on hundreds and so far this is my favorite machine. Don't get me wrong though. Can am and Polaris do have nice rigs. But when it comes to reliability there's only one name that stands on top.
