Thanks Al. We are basically OK but I have been suffering with my hips and Mandy has not been too well plus the weather hasn't helped. Hope you are doing better than us. Regards Michael

Hi Lizzy. It is a great pub/hotel. It was, as you will have seen, out of season and very quiet. Regards Michael

Happy Anniversary to you both. I visited Jamacia inn with my parents in 1979 I think. I think they were still smuggling there in those days. Hope you got your diesel heater sorted

Thank you Richard. I think Jamaica Inn will have changed a bit since 1979. Would you believe the heater worked the following day!!! It must have been the GHOSTS 😲 Regards Michael

I think that with so much to see within the Jamaica Inn the weather wasn't a factor to be considered. Mandy was right. A very interesting place but I have to wonder how much of the story is embellishment and how much smuggling still goes on today? Happy belated anniversary. Regards, David.

It would be easy to spend a few hours in the museum if that was "your thing". The majority f the buildings you see today are extensions but tastefully done. Regards Michael

Jamaica Inn, no she went in on her accord 🙂 We all have days when things don't go to plan. Good dose of toast, well done, happy 12th.

Haha. I actually thought about saying that in the video. A bit like "He chased her round the field, by hel-i-copter." I enjoy making Melba Toast, I find a Danish loaf the best. Cheers Michael

Hi, just thought I would pop by and give you the new history that has been uncovered that is slowly coming out. There was nothing but open moorland and an old Roman Track till 1776, when a sea mariner called Capt John Broad agreed a lease (two in fact, but would take two pages to tell you all the details) he built a large dwelling house with stables and hayloft. It did not become an Inn till the first coaches went past the new toll road in 1787. The name came from the lease owner, James Scawen, as he had connections with the West Indies, plus John Broad did as a sea captain. We have no proof of smuggling, but it is most likely lol. We are the official paranormal team here and run all the public paranormal nights, plus research, give talks and much more. We loved your video and hope you have many more travels.

Thanks for that. It is my Wife, Mandy, who is involved with the paranormal and she is a member of the Wednesbury Paranormal Group. I shall forward your message to her. Regards Michael

I thought other than dogs for the blind,they wasn't allowed in places that served food , fleas and peeing on coats hung on backs of chairs is what ive seen in the past so dont use dog friendly places or accommodation even though i have been a dog owner,
@michaelchartres9 ай бұрын
I understand your sentiment and I can say that they did not allow dogs into the restaurant. Only into what was termed the bar area. Thanks for watching. and regards Michael

Great video. I wonder how many realise that the slave trade took white individuals from the south west
