Hi guys 😊 Bought a BF PRO FS a short while ago and want to tell you how happy I am with it. Made a world of difference both on recording quality, but most of all the playback options in total mix fx are amazing. Easy to dial in so that i can hear my own vocals loud and clear while recording and it has made a world of difference in the recorded performance! Keep up the good work. Best from Norway 😎 👌

@RMEAudio2 жыл бұрын
You have to configure the Fireface 800 as an AD/DA converter. Route analogue inputs to ADAT outputs and ADAT inputs to the analogue outputs. The unit saves its settings. You can use the Fireface 800 with Firewire to Thunderbolt adapter.

Just purchased BF PRO FS to use with my new M1 Pro MBP and I’m very curious about optimal USB connection, especially considering the laptop only has two USB-C/Thunderbolt connections, with independent TB controllers. Do I need to have the audio interface plugged directly into laptop for optimal latency/performance, or will it work just as well through a hub, shared by other USB midi controllers and devices? I’m currently using a USB-C to USB-A Hub , where I have 7 USB controllers, including Mouse/KB .. And the other thunderbolt port is directly connected to a TB hard drive. I’m thinking my best bet is to probably get a 4 port thunderbolt hub and just run the USB-A hub and hard drive off of it, and dedicate the Babyface to the other thunderbolt port.

Hello RME Team, could you please advise me what should I do? Given: Mic via XLR in AN1/2 input and Electric guitar via 6.3mm cable in AN 3/4 Input (instrumental). The problem is that I can use only one Input channel for programms like skype, discord etc. but I want to make some online lessons with my teacher, where I will able to speak AND playing the guitar at the same time. Is it possibe to mix those channels into one i.e. virtual imput channel and select it in any programm on pc? Or the only one option is to connect my mic to AN1 and guitar also via XLR to AN2? (but I've heared that its bad idea)

You can use the loopback function of TotalMix FX to mix and route your mic and guitar to an input channel. If your work on Mac you have to use a littlt work around, because on Mac there is a problem with streaming software inputs. Hi, I have a question: when plugging into the normal hi-z jack inputs (for example a di guitar or bass), does the signal go through the preamps (same as plugging in the xlrs on the back) ? Thanks! Best regards
@RMEAudio3 жыл бұрын
The BF Pro does not have a usual mic preamp. It uses a fully transparent input buffer which has the added bonus of adjusting its gain. Bypassing it would bring zero advantage, the circuit is needed as input buffer anyway. So set it to minimum gain and you can use any external preamp to colour your sound.When a guitar is connected to the instrument input, the Babyface automatically detects it and switches to Hi-Z input.
@micheletacchi23023 жыл бұрын
@@RMEAudio That’s great, so you confirm that the guitar signal goes through the preamp and benefits from its sound quality right? (unless I leave the volume signal to 0)
@RMEAudio3 жыл бұрын
@@micheletacchi2302 I edited the previous answer. The guitar (Hi-Z) goes through the AN 3 or AN 4 preamp, even if you set it to zero.
