11:36 A clearance is not active if your no longer sponsored by the contractor or Government, it ends when you're no longer working. A clearance is a need to have and need to know. REASON: Politicians in recent back in the day after leaving office, would still have their clearance active when no longer working and would go to Gov sites and access information they no longer needed for work and would take the information of which they were no longer authorized and use it in nefarious ways. Laws were changed to stop the clearance once you leave the sponsoring entity. However, if its within 4 years, your clearance can still be re-activated for another role if sponsored, without having to go through the process again

Really great overview interview tips but I was hoping you would cover some basic ISSO questions. such as how to implement certain controls, NIST and gov't Termanology vs normal IT terminology, and more about the actual RMF lifecycle process and questions surrounding it. And possibly how to show your understanding of FIPS 199/200 or the NIST SP 800 series and how they work together, etc.

I’m impressed with all the knowledge. I don’t have experience in IT but I have knowledge in DevOps , but my fears of interviews got me discouraged after I landed a job as IT support. I think now that the information system security is going to get me into Real IT world. ..

Thank you for this, I suck at interviewing due to the fact that I have usually been contacted for most of the positions I have been hired for or referred to a position with no interview. I know what I do but usually struggle to answer interview questions. Then after getting the position end up in a lead/training role.

So I applied for a Records management specialist job and my resume has nothing on it about risk management. However, today I got a request for an interview and after watching this video, I'm basically going in as an eager person to learn. My current job is an administrative assistant for the federal govt. I'm studying the RMF and Nisa documentation. I have tons of customer service experience but not so much at the IT or cyber security level more on the administrative and sales level. But one thing I pride myself on is my willingness to learn/research information and I'm a diplomate that enjoys creating harmony between organizations in hopes that the workflow is more positive than negative. I need input in to why this organization would consider me for an interview when I'm not an IT professional. Funny my husband is a cyber security policy guy. Any help towards the interview process would be great.

@SpicyRicee3 жыл бұрын
Get hired by a company who would sponsor you. You can also pay for one, it’s a lengthy process. Check for jobs on usajobs.gov for civilians. Jobs there usually help with sponsors

If you are college student, it is pretty easy to get a student internship. If you are working on a Bachelor's degree - at least 2 classes and graduate degree - 1 class. AND there are other requirements.

I currently drive for Uber. Zero i.t. Experience. Someone told me to get AWS certificates and don’t waste time on A+ CompTIA. Is this true? Will cyber security pay more than AWS work?
@ConvoCourses5 жыл бұрын
If you study for CompTIA A+ it will give a pretty solid understanding of how to troubleshoot computers. As far a AWS VS cybersecurity.. it depends on the level. AWS cloud certs pay pretty high, but that is with experience. With zero IT experience, start with entry level certs and jobs to get your foot in the door and work your way up.

How do u get the clearance? I am a student currently with no experience in cybersecurity...what are mine chances of passing an Interview?
@jmoney41029 ай бұрын
The quickest way would to go into the military in a job field that requires a clearance. Another way would be to get involved in organization(such as AFCEA) that helps people in STEM get paired up with a company or DoD affiliate that’ll sponsor you for a clearance.
