RMIT Village Room Tour + Surfing Bells Beach | Travel Vlog | Studying in Australia Vlog #5

I went surfing for the first time this week. Showed a tour of the RMIT Village rooms. I finally went to St. Kilda! Celebrated St. Patricks Day as well! Ashley Gauthier - hey Ashley what are the opportunities like to make friends in the first few weeks? also whats your opinion on the 2 bedroom Saex rooms , the only thing that slightly puts me off is lack of private space aha

hey! as an american, the rooms were wayyyy better than the dorms we have in the US. I loved my room. also i would say 90% or more of people in the village have the same style room they just are titled diff on the website so they know who is staying for one semester. as for friends, they have orientation week which you should definitely sign up for. it’s the best way to meet the most people ASAP. i would try to spend as much time in the public areas as possible. i went to the pool every single day when i didn’t know anyone and spoke to someone new everyday.

i met all of my friends in my housing accommodation, rmit village. most of the students there were study abroad or 1st year aussies so it was a good environment to meet people.

Hello, I hope you're having a good day! :) I am going yo RMIT in 2019 for semester 2! I am planning my accommodations right now and am looking into several places. The RMIT village seems like a nice pick, but I was wondering if there are air conditioners in the rooms? (Thought this might faster than emailing the RMIT Village) :)

no AC! i had no problem with a fan (which they will give you for free if you ask) and opening the door to the balcony. it gets cool at night and melbourne has a cool winter so it gets cool at night pretty fast. there are also common areas with AC

Hey, pat here. I’m moving in on July for an exchange programme. My bf is helping me to move in so i’m thinking of sneaking him in to stay for a couple of weeks. Do u think its possible? I’ve emailed RMIT and they said they could only allowed him 4 consecutive days upon approval... idk if i shld take the risk of asking him to come melbourne with me.

hey! i tried to sneak my friends in and was successful one night and another night unsuccessful and one of them was banned from the village forever lol. i would say you cannot count on him staying there every night but there are hostels close by.
