Hey Eddie, dare I say, a bit more versatile than a distressor or even versatility in a different way. So, it is a Mic Pre/Compressor or a Mic Pre/Saturation Box but because it has line level input, one can definitely mix out of the box not only on individual signal but also busses. In addition to having an instrument input as well. Distressor is compression and coloration, but a plethora of choices when it comes to compression ratios, timing, side-chain and coloration.
