Hi Cousins, I know it has been a while but a lot has happened. One of those things is that I am going to MBA school. Im still a Nurse. I just want to be a nurse that understands healthcare as a business. Let me know your thoughts on my new endeavor and if you have decided to try something new in your life.

Hey beautiful. I am in a similar situation . I am 30 years old and I am one year away from finishing my post MSN FNP degree. I realized this is not what I want to do . Lucky that you got your loans forgiven . I am 100k in debt . I started a business here in Atlanta with a plastic surgeon , Botox and fillers and all that and I realized that I want a product based business and not a service based business . I feel like business is the way to go for the life that I want . I make 150k right now as a RN and I’m not looking to take a pay cut to become a NP. So I’m considering an in person part time MBA program. I actually love school but I want it to make sense . People do talk down on MBA and say you don’t need it , I’m not trying to opan a lash boutique. I want to learn about business in a global scale . If you have a business and you don’t have knowledge about logistics , operations , finance , legal then you won’t go very far as a business u less you have the right information and connections. Most big companies won’t hire people at the top without MBAs. Thank you for sharing!

Hey Gorgeous!!! I totally understand where you are coming from. I’m almost a year into the MBA program and honestly it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made. I have grown so much as a person and the way I think about business is different. Pursuing my MBA has forced me to step out of my comfort zone and I’m grateful for it…. As nurses who practice nursing eventually we are going to hit a cap in pay even if we pursue the highest levels of degree. However If we have an understanding of healthcare as a business and tap into that our earning potential is limitless. Ok so here’s my plan.. I’m starting ADN in fall. My goal is to get BSN. Work the field for a bit. Then I’d like to either become a NP, psych, family, women’s health. OR I’m thinking of if I don’t love nursing with my BSN I can get a masters in counseling and become a therapist. I have a 2 year accounting degree and I’m currently a realtor as well!! Real estate is a family biz and I just don’t love it! I need to do something for me. You think this sounds doable for me?! Merry Xmas!
