Leopards are half the size of jaguars and yet they are THE major predator to gorillas, being able of killing silverbacks too in a 1 vs 1 quite often. Cats are just build different, and despite what people think, gorillas are very incapable fighters since they rarely throw hands.

@@Seize-all-tommorows I didn’t say it wouldn’t or couldn’t kill one. I gave speed and bite force to the jaguar for a reason and solely raw strength to Gorilla. Just stated it’s not one sided between either one. I guess it all comes down to who kills who more frequently in a one v one

I’m guessing that since it’s energetically costly to raise its metabolism and organ function, it would require larger prey to offset the energy cost. So when the eat smaller prey they don’t get as much energy to fuel further digestion. But don’t quote me idk 🤷🏽‍♂️

That was a really good guess. The first sentence is 100% correct. They use about the same amount of energy no matter what they're digesting, but smaller prey doesn't give much back. Basically, they'll use more calories to digest a rat than they'll get out of the rat.

I think he chose the opposite answers at those questions lmao Jaguars vs Gorilla, Jaguars wins almost for certain. Leopards win against gorillas in their natural habitats and they're less bulky than Jaguars. Everyone focus on the Gorillas strength because they're so much stronger than humans. But sheer brute strength whitout good weapons in the wild isn’t very useful in a fight. Gorillas don't punch like humans when they fight and they don’t have claws, they have nails exactly like ours. Their only option to deal damage is their large canines, but the Jaguar has them too. As for hyenas vs lions. Lions win almost every time too. Even though hyenas have a more devastating bite force, they're much smaller than lions. The best chance they get is when it's a lone lion vs a pack of hyenas. The crow vs owl one though is harder to tell. They're about the same size and owls are almost always alone while crows are almost always in group. The owls have sharper talons and beak though...

@@imanamerican553 oh yes forgot the skin thing. Other primates have thicker skin than we do but it's still very easy to pierce for a big cat. Look at the silverbacks hairless chest, there's not a lot to protect it from a big cat attack.

I live by the mountains in Japan and see the giant hornets fairly often. Sometimes they'll shoot past my head at 50 MpH and other times they'll just stop and hover in front of me, as if they're taking my measure. Pants-shitting situations. If you wear black they can apparently mistake you for bears, which they hate for preying on their nests, so that's not ideal for you. Wear light colors and they can't see you very well and won't care about you unless you threaten their nest, which is fortunately going to be off in the woods where you probably won't be going. If you stick to central Tokyo you likely won't see any at all. It's just in the outlying areas and countryside where they can be a problem.

The python can digest the gator faster because there are less bones to digest compared to the equivalent weight in rats or other animals, like with feeding my ball python, it's better to feed one small rat than 2 large mice, about the same size and weight, but 2 mice leaves air gaps while one rat doesnt habe those air gaps, so more meat, it takes less energy because of the energy gained from the gator, a rat is so small, it takes the snakes body more energy to digest the rat than the snake gets back from the rat
