That “Can’t Be Friends” story is such a great moment in describing a trustful artist/producer relationship. Mario Winans needs to be on the podcast. What he did on Tamia’s debut album prod “Rain On Me” and “Never Gonna Let You Go” is pure r&b genius. Oh wow to hear him mention Jeff Lorber i can relate as a producer. His albums are so well put together where every instrument is highlighted plus he's an amazing arranger & composer. BET Jazz used to be one of my favorite shows to watch on Sundays and there's an episode he's on.

This episode was incredible. Troy has been an incredible mentor to many, myself included but moreso my brother who produced IN THE MIDDLE on Trey's 1st album. He always took the time to explain and teach the whys and the history of music. His collection of physical music (Cds and Vinyls) that he pulls from at a moments notice to really SHOW you is extensive. He taught us that the perfect notes are great but the FEELING and the PASSION is whats most important and what connects with the audience. He is forever a LEGEND and I'm grateful to have known and worked with him. Dope Episode #TTU
