I actually believe he is the most transformational artist of the last 2 decades. Caught a glimpse of him after his second album at London's Ronnies Scott. There and then, he was going to win a Grammy. I remember chatting with him, Derrick Hodge, and Chris Dave at the Bar of that Club.

Love that Glasper said that most times when you record an album, the best version of those songs come *after* the album’s recorded. *So true* . Some artists might need to rethink their recording process 🤯

By the by, I just learned the intro of Tanks “Self Esteem” on the “While You Wait” EP, and the chord progression is dope. There are some passing chords that show up intermittently, but I usually have a harder time finding those chords because I don’t know what they are (I can’t read music - BUT IM COMMITTED TO LEARNING!!). Usually the bass note is in a weird place. But there was something that came up in this episode regarding the utilization of space, and listening to the cadence in “Self Esteem” in reference to the chord progression is so simple in essence, but Tank’s delivery dope! “You Never Knew” is actually my favorite track on the EP. Chord chart will be arriving soon and I’ll be learning to read scores. Thanks again!!
