I have gotten behind a few 'cruisers' that moved pretty well...and I even ride one myself sometimes...and trust me, I put it thru its paces if I am not riding with a group of my friends..! But I KNOW that the cruiser is "Just in the way" for Sport Riders...and I give them a passing lane as soon as it is safe to pass. Yes..."Fast for a Harley" is not even "Fast" for my V6 Mustang! Let alone a Sport Bike! Ha Ha !! But I always ride "for fun"...and if I get behind a rider that is going pretty well, I usually just relax and follow for a while... at a distance that doesn't 'pressure' them to either get mad at me or do something stupid to 'show me how fast they can go'... The ones who are real "riders" will soon make a space for me to pass. The "road hogs" will keep taking up the entire road like they think they are Deputy Sheriffs duly obligated to 'enforce' speed limits, or think "I am going fast enough for Anybody..."

knox2613 .. I agree. I live about 2 hours from the Dragon, but still get up there several times each season. And YES I would LOVE to make a trip to CA for a ride on the Mulholland and the PCH... But it is hard to beat N. GA and Western NC, and all around the Smoky and Blue Ridge Mountains for a "Candyland" of good roads to play on! And they are kept in pretty good riding condition, and none of the "freeze-heave" damage from further north... But roads like the Cherohala, Blue Ridge Parkway, Moonshiner, Blood Mtn., The Rattler, and literally 100 more twisty playground roads offer so many roads you could spend 2 weeks riding and never repeat a road, unless you want to! No...we don't have a view of the Pacific as we ride, and we have some ice & snow on some of the roads as we go further north, but the overlooks offer spectacular mountain views, and N GA still offers almost year-round riding. Or we can take a few hours and hit the Atlantic coastline, for a weekend getaway.

The snake gets a lot of hype, and rightfully so. I used to ride often it in my LA days. But if you ever find yourself on a motorcycle here in Colorado between April and October, there are literally thousands of challenging twisty roads to get your knee down and terrify yourself.
