Looked to be a form of training exercise or maybe putting the vessel out at sea as the crew came back to shore shortly after on a small powered dinghy.
note the interesting machine used to take the boat out of the station and launch it off the ramp.

Nice! I did wonder how they get it back up the ramp, assumed they float it over the thing with rubber tracks?
