Road America - 2020 June Sprints Sunday's Race

The Pursuit of Speed - Finished a great weekend of racing at Road America @ SCCA June Sprints. Exciting start to Sunday's race, I was on Pole in Prototype 2, but a poor start got me shuffled back to 5th at the start...so I had my work cut out. Had an epic battle at the end of Sunday's feature race; Ligier JS-49 Vs Stohr WF-1, and it was a ton of fun! You gotta watch at least the last 2.5 minutes!! Can't wait for the Runoffs in October! 🏁 🏁🏁🏁

Prepping for June Sprints 2024. This is one of my favorite training videos. Of course track has been repaved, and some markers different, but this is core perfect lap, particularly the last lap pass, amazing, love it!

I appreciate your short-shifting for corners. I see so many on-boards of people near redline and having to modulate the throttle through 7 and the carousel, and it's refreshing to see someone else who gets it 😂

Excellent driving. I had experience with open wheel with a formula 440. Although not as fast, it was still a blast to drive. Nice late breaking, had me on the edge of my bed. God bless you 🙏🏼🏎. I know your car is not open wheel but close enough 🤗

we are currently running the GoPro 7 in a diving case, if we didn't the wind noise on the long straights would be overwhelming. Note: using Max 360 in most recent runoffs video

In the final pass if i am the car ahead of you i would pick the internal line, i think he don't believed that you gonna brake later and pass inside Very great drive, they cars have a bit more power, can see that in straights, but you managed to win by experience and patience

Thats black car surely had more hp than you, how is parity ruled? Impresive drive all the way with clearly inferior machinery but the best hands out there. Also could you give me car specs (model, hp, wheight, cost) its hard to find that info online.

I am driving a Stohr WF1 powered with a Suzuki Hayabusa 1340cc motor. The weight is 1175lb with me in it. Cost for a Stohr are all over the board, old Gen 1 car $32-40K a newer or well kept WF1 car $45 to $110K+ for a new car. Spare package or lack of can add or suntract a bit from price.

Yes, the car is fun as hell! THX for you comments. Very demanding to drive, not always the best spot to start a club racing hobby/career. There are much more affordable options like spec racer Ford. My car is a Stohr WF1, powered by a Suzuki motorcycle engine. Cost? $35-120K. There is a huge variable, depends on your starting point-does the car you secure need a lot of work, etc. Would you be wrenching on yourself or pay a shop? Most people race on a preset budget-what they can afford. Keep in mind running the car competitively is the big expense, not purchasing the car.

@@tttday Thx for the info! Track time is crazy expensive too..Much better rates with a club. I've taken my 96 Integra GSR & two different Honda S2000's to Summit Point Raceway three different times 10 years ago.Great time! Eats up those expensive tires & hard on even non OEM brakes.. Whole car actually, which probably isn't smart for also being my daily driver. Learned a lot as well. Saw a bunch of nice cars on 'the hook'! Nice thing was my car insurance covered me as it was considered 'driver improvement'... A fairly new track near me is crazy expensive..Like $400-$600 for only 3-4 hours.. Very true, any kind of track driving/racing especially like yours is EXPENSIVE! Plus you have to get all the seat time to get the proper license to drive X type of car on type of X track.. Probably the cheapest is to run a go-cart, but at 40 years old may be a little old 😎. Sucks, as it takes a lot of disposable income, time, & being a decent mechanic to rise up the ranks or even run in small local series..

@@Silverline2572 Karting is the most bang for you buck, so good point. They can very demanding, so I know it gets my ass in shape. If you're serious, spend $6-9K on modest race simulator. Big initial investment, super cheap to run after that, can't replace track time, but its a good fix. Spending a bit of time on mine as I prepare for Indy/IMS road course.
