Back in the day our grandfathers did a lot of this same work with nothing but a ford tractor and a front loader. Looking good Cap'n and you might have to dress it once in a while for a few years but it will most definitely get there over time. Once that clay in the "chert" dries out hard the water won't get through and everything will solid up. Just need a sun baked summer to set the clay. How many millions of miles oven baked clay pipe is in the ground for hundreds of years? A bunch.

To answer the question in the title, "no." Remember, what I learned many years ago: "if you get out without calling a wrecker, you were never stuck." And one observation from experience with having a small loader tractor as well as several larger tractors and such, when in a pinch, I bet you'll always go for that 755. Yep we do it all the time curl the bucket on the loader under and as u back up uncurl it. It will take the weight off the front, get them tires to quit plowing. Add a little weight to the back for traction. Do it with are backhoe and farm tractors
@dfusit Жыл бұрын
@@davebeckner1298 Agreed, sometimes all it takes is extending the backhoe straight out, it’ll shifts the weight onto the rear enough to stop the front tire plowing and then doing the curling & uncurling the bucket pushes you out nicely - sometimes. Every situation is different though.

The old 555 is Running Good. Boy that Engine brings back Alot of memories from when I operated My Dad's. 555 B. His was a 4x4 which makes a big difference in that mud. I always would flip the Brake lever over so brakes were independent from one another when running the front bucket that way you can steer the tractor with the brakes. Because 9 times out of 10 the Front tires are off the ground. So there no help....LoL..They are a Heavy Backhoe though. Great Video Sir... That 755 is just a Little beast of a Tractor..

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Nice to see the 555 in action, amazing how much it can scoop and carry compared to the John Deere. But it definitely shows it’s girth with the way it sinks in. I’ll never forget the first time I saw a backhoe with weighted tires. Power company drove across our front yard that was extremely hard packed clay with a slight amount of topsoil. It sunk in probably a foot or so, but the ground sprung back leaving no lasting impression. At the time it was probably the most magical thing I’d ever seen. Wishing you and your family the best.

Captain, looks to me like you've got a good team of equipment with both the 555 and the 755 to work with now. Now you just need to rig up a home made steel drum filled with sand or water foller to attach to the the 755 to flaten the driveway after you've graded it out. An old friend of mine up in Michigan did that. One a single drum for tight places and another w drums welded together with 4 lenghts of45 degrees apart angle iron welded inside to stiffen them together for wide spots. Worked like a charm on his farm.
@markpashia7067 Жыл бұрын
In our area they would put a one inch galvanized pipe through the center and fill it with concrete. Then attach some arms to make a compactor/roller to pull with any tractor. Usually some heavy brass bushings instead of bearings and replace them when they get too wobbly. Can go a long way on home made rollers. Ones filled with water were usually used to set sod in place. You could add or subtract water to change the weight to get just right for the sod.

Mike one word from someone who had many a happy or not so happy hour or two working to get the old Case 850 back hoe out of holes, you can always use the front bucket to help push when pulling from the back actor bucket, a 'Push me Pull me action. not easy but it can get you out of much worse than you were in behind your shed. But like I think you found out a Back hoe operates different to a skid steer, or dozer or even a mini excavator, Have a backhoe attachment fitted to DP's green Mack and you would never get stuck again. All in the lessons of what we call 'Life Learning' You are doing good with that pile of ex scrap, now pride of place. Who would ever of thought thet the triple nickel wold turn into a KZbin Star. Stay safe and well Regards to family.
