In this video, we tackle the challenge of clearing a road through dense woods using a Ford 3000 farm tractor, a trusty chainsaw, and the Kubota. Watch as we cut through fallen trees, move heavy debris, and carve out a pathway step by step. Whether you're a fan of tractors, enjoy watching forestry work, or are planning a similar project yourself, this video is packed with hard work and satisfying progress.

Ha! You have a scrap metal pile, too? Guess what-I’m the guilty party on mine! It’s gutters I was told to “get rid of” in 1979. Never give a 15-year-old kid a job that involves tractors and decision making! I never dreamed I would own this land, certainly not build and live on it, but here I am 36 years later. Great to see so much activity on this channel, Happy New Year!

Wes. We have done so much of that through the years, chainsaw work, hand-trimming tools, and a much older tractor: a 1947 Ford 2N. No grappler, etc!😊 Still doing it with our driveway thru the woods.

Boy this takes me back nearly 40 years ago when I had to cut a road through the woods to get to some small pines I cut for tier poles to go in Grandpa's log tobacco barn that burned out in a barn fire. My experience Wes is that I get the most done on days when I don't plan a lot. I hope you and your family had a great Christmas and I look forward to seeing part 2.

If the chain stretches (wears) so much you have to remove links, the space between drive teeth is lengthening, too. That can damage the sprockets.

Chisel chain dulls faster than semi-chisel. If your looking to cut dirty wood, lots of vines and junk.. like dirt, try the rounded cutter style chain. Don't file the rakers to low or the chain will be grabby.. it will grab those smaller limbs and won't cut them or let go. Nice to see you using farm diesel in the old Ford

Vines kill trees and then the forests. I'd be tempted to spend a few afternoons walking though the woods with 30" bolt cutters and snip each vine at the vase of trees. The vines will dry and fall off the trees.

Pull the wire out by hand by using shovels, picks and wire cutters like we did in the old days. People are spoiled today by using machinery for everything like digging post holes, etc.

We are doing something very similar. My wife wants a path cut around the back end of the farm for a walking/biking trail. My big tractor isn't designed to work in the woods. It has exposed hydraulic lines underneath that get pulled loose and cost me a lot of down time and money replacing fluids, so I have a buddy bringing his skidsteer and forestry muncher over. I spent much of yesterday marking the trail, cutting down small trees, and pulling 50 year old barbed wire out of the way. We are hoping that muncher will deal with all the grape vines and privet. We will be cutting along two creeks but not actually crossing them. Guess which chainsaw I used? I've started buying all my chains from Amazon. I'm prone to cutting dirt on occasion.
@falllineridge

I wrecked one of the hard lines on the Kubota a couple of years ago. Amazing how fast they can get rid of fluid like that. That forestry mulcher is worth its weight in gold.
