Very depressing situation. Makes me want to cry. Regarding what Miko Peled said about maintaining our strong collective action in support of the Palestinians, I agree we should do that anyway. But, I always felt it would be military pressure that undermined Isr*el. Not that the resistance can compete with the unending onslaught of bombs and drones donated by the world's biggest superpower, but by destabilising the country over time, which could undermine their economy. No power ever gives up anything of its own volition, and Israel has never struck me as a state that gives a damn about international reputation, which they're happy to forgo for longterm gain (and every time their criminality and barbarism is called out, they play victim and cry antisemitsm anyway). The Isr*el lobby in the US and other western countries is too rich, powerful and influential to let the project slip, which makes it different from apartheid South Africa, and Palestinians simply aren't needed in the way that the black majority population was in South Africa, for labour. We'll have to see how this pans out, but if the Palestinians are ultimately ethnically cleansed from their homeland - Isr*el's long time dream - unfortunately they aint ever getting back. Hopefully there are some variables unaccounted for right now. As Miko said, the Palestinians are very resourceful people.

More education and conversations as Miko suggested is more or less a dead end. If armed resistance and economic pressure (through boycotts and cutting of aid) can’t help, then your best bet for the survival of the Palestinian issue is to push for the one state solution and demand equality, regional autonomy and the Palestinian right for law of return as well. Through demographics and time, the issue can be revive later on after so much destruction from this war. If that’s what they want, if not so be it. It’s about surviving to resist another day.

I feel your pain George - I am so deflated at the west’s bombardment of the Middle East. The Middle East is completely dominated and controlled except for Iran - but its days are numbered. I honestly have given up- we can’t win and that’s a fact that we all must face 😢
