ROAD GLIDE vs STREET GLIDE

It’s way better today, it feels more nimble then a street glide that’s for sure, and in the 80s that wasn’t the case. Road glide is the sensible purchase if you really ride

I've got a Street Glide 2014 Firefighter Shrine . I'm 5/7 and it fits me perfectly. I actually.like the feel of the bars with the Bat wing on it and I can see the road in front better then the Road Glide. I get that on long runs like club rides the Road Glide is supposed to be less tiring because your only turning the bars not the fairing but to me the shark nose is to far up front like a car dash board.There is more room on the Road Glide for taller riders to stretch out on . I also like the iconic Bat Wing over the Shark Nose.

Both are nice bikes but ever since 2015 Harley hit a home run with the shark nose. Road glide look mean.

Anyone saying there isn't any difference doesn't ride much. Get caught behind a semi in his dirty air and SG will most definitely react to the buffeted air. Crosswinds also. Plus the whole fixed fairing thing doesn't make sense. Does the dash in your car/truck move when you turn? No, it doesn't. To each there own etc.. both are nice.

All great bikes owned by what seems to be a great group of guys. Those of us torn between the two now have just a bit more information to make our decision. I'm leaning towards the road glide for the handling. Both a simply great bikes! Thanks!

I have ridden both and there is no real difference in the wind, the fixed fairing is slightly easier to turn for women and shorter people, for it's me a matter of control and that I like to feel my motorcycle move with me in lieu of a fixed faring that feels like I am driving my car.

You get used to balancing the streetglide and it steers one handed, if u dont balance it perfect u will feel the weight of the fairing at really low speed, at high speed its a one handed afair, only like 40mph side gusts will u fight the wind a little more and even then if u just chill its fine. Streetglide is a little bit lighter bike too. I have a 2013 with the old dash, no abs brakes, i love it. Get the ElectraGlide Standard, no radio or stupid computer screen, wish they made a Roadglide like that too.

Not sure I can say I agree with that guy Richie. He’s the only person I’ve ever heard say that the wind moves the Street glide bat wing ferring around and you have to fight it. Every review from guys like Matt Laidlaw and many other all say there’s no difference in the Street and Road Glides except their ferrings. Just about every good rider at least says they both are the same at highway speed and low speed. So I’m disagreeing and think Richie has that in his head that the street does that

Thanks for the comment. I have to agree with Richie somewhat. I’ve owned an Ultra for over 20 years and just recently bought a Road Glide Limited and the Road Glides fixed fairing is a little easier to handle the steering during slow and highway speeds due to lighter steering since there’s no extra weight from the batwing. When on the highway you’ll have to hold the Street Glide a little tighter especially if you’re cutting through a lot of wind.

The road glide entertainment sits too far from the rider. Very uncomfortable and quite frankly does not look good from that position. Other then that I like them both but bought a sgs and dont regret it
