I had to look up the man that drove through the parade. He is a public menace and will probably get the book thrown at him. -he’s Sydney Mecham, 42 -in addition to driving around several traffic blockades and nearly running over children, several officers tried to pull him over. He just kept going. -he was driving on a suspended license and had no insurance. -while under arrest, he was slapped with another hit and run charge from an otherwise unrelated case. -he is a registered sex offender and confirmed p*do. He has prior convictions from 1999 for attempted first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy. In 2016, he was convicted of sexually abusing an underage boy, and giving him weed and alcohol…Mecham was 35 at the time. -in October he was charged 38 counts related to his recent rampage, including felony unlawful use of a weapon and attempting to elude an officer. For reasons that completely evade me, he has pleaded not guilty. No trial date has been set.
