Thank you so much for uploading these! I haven't seen this in many, many years! I remember having this entire season on VHS tape way back in the day. I actually probably still have it somewhere at my parents' house. This was, hands down, my all-time favorite season of Road Rules. No other season could ever compare to this one. I felt like I could totally relate to a majority of the Northern Trail cast and it was just so real and raw. People weren't getting drunk, hooking up, or having ridiculous, dramatic fights. It was a true documentary of young people who were being entirely themselves and partaking in real challenges. They weren't putting on a show for the cameras. This was REAL. I was 16 years old when this season aired and I have such fond memories of it. My friends and I always watched it religiously and then we would constantly talk about it at school. I miss the old school 90s Road Rules and Real World so much! Those were the days when MTV was an absolute gold mine of amazing shows and music. We had it all back then. I remember coming home from school and immediately turning the TV on to watch TRL as soon as I walked through the door. Now, here I am at 39 years old re-watching all of these amazing shows from my adolescence and I can hardly handle the nostalgia. I refuse to watch MTV today because of the utter garbage on there. Kids today will just never understand how amazing the 90s were. Take me back!!!!!

Funny how Dan didn’t win any competitions against the rest of the group but he went on to win 2/3 of the challenges he participated in. One of the all time great competitors.

+slowhomes gigi What is the obsession with Jon? (Not you specifically, a lot of the comments on here are about Jon, who I thought was the most forgettable person of the season) Pardon my ignorance as I was 10 when this show aired, and I didn't really start watching Road Rules until Campus Crawl, but Jon was the only person never to do a challenge and he doesn't stick out here imo. I'm a straight guy, so I'm not the best judge, but I think that Dan is better looking too.

he later went on to be a writer for a popular videogame review website and was one of three presenters on that website's podcast- fans of this podcast often participate in a sometimes ironic, sometimes sincere exaggerated idolatry for the benign and gentle toned dude. now and then he would talk about his experiences on the show with some degree of embarrassment, so fans sought out footage in order to get a full picture. his appearance in RR is indeed underwhelming when taken out of the context of his later activities, but as fans we have a sense of his personality and find it charming to see the boyish glee he possessed as a younger guy. the podcast is called Podtoid and he was present for episodes 149 through 276. it's mostly just vulgar humour predicated on the contrast between jons meek demeanour and various imagined hypersexual circumstances. I can't recommend it now but I found it comforting as a younger teen.

I had always secretly hoped that Tara and Dan would end up together, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. I loved Tara. She reminded me so much of myself.

This was the very first episode of Road Rules I ever watched. I was about 9 years old and remember watching a marathon of this season at my Great Aunts. due to my age and the views of my parents, I wasn't allowed to watch Mtv period so it was all new and exciting and felt slightly dangerous.

They did occasionally play some of The Roots songs, which was a combination of hip hop and R&B.
