you obviously don't have kids or dony participate in outdoor sports where equipment is required. These things make sense to some one that is moving away from a sports car, to something that can take my son's stuff including his bike and my mountain bike with gear, but still want the performance

As a Jeep owner I can tell you it is a Jeep thing. Because I have had my wrangler since 03 and it has nearly 215k on it. probably about 15k to 20k off road. Its a jeep thing. I previously drove a toyota camry (company car, not my choice trust me) and had issues with it at 50k. replaced fan and radiator pump. Experiences differ per person and car. Although they may just be hunks of metal, each has its own personality and attitude.

Depends on which model the city was willing to buy. They can get a police package which I think has a supercharged Hemi.

SRT baby. Big ass 4 door sedan running 12's and 112MPH in the 1/4th for $46k..only in American can you get this level of performance, tech, and quality for this cheap. An M3 BMW would be $15k more. This is why i love Mopar.

Not quite, Consumer Reports recommended the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. However, they were impressed with the Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300; expect that CR recommend check mark soon...

That must be it I know my town has the pentastar engines in the police cars. Also I don't believe there is a super charged hemi out from Chrysler yet. My bet if its a hemi in the chargers it is probably the 5.7L good HP and MPG isn't disasterous.

You cannot use anecdotal evidence. Statistically the Honda Odyssey has had way more issues with the transmission than either of the Chrysler twins. Explain why there was a difference in rating between the pontiac vibe and toyota matrix then if their reviews are so well researched?

Considering both cars at the beginning THEN saw the price. For that price... Might as well get a Infinity.

Thing is though that people rarely buy performance cars using a practical point of view. And economically speaking this isn't much worse then any for sized v8 suv or truck, and it's on par with some performance sedans, it actually uses less fuel then a v10 m5 and about the same as an auto CTS-V. Plus for people who live somewhere there is lots of snow this thing is going to be much easier to live with then any sports car.

Again though, pick any car-ANY car, even a lexus which people hold to such high regard, can and will have the same issues if you find unlucky people (or people that lie about the car). All of the known issues for the engine (that I know of) have solutions created for them by now.

How the hell does AMG and M justify charging double or more for their equivalent cars? If you bought an X5M or ML63 AMG you are looking at $100K+. I could accept them at $75K or so because of the quality, name and materials, but double, no way.

One really bad car, it happens-across every brand. Check out sienna forums or odyssey forums, and you'll find minivans missing glue and other things. It happens to everyone, and you get unlucky at times. When I meant repair vs maintenance, some companies say inspect, others say replace at x miles. The former will eventually be replaced as a "major repair" because it went unexpectedly.

Ok, let me fill you in. Those two vehicles are exactly the same-just a different name. One is rated better, guess which one? Anecdotes are useless, as I know more people with Siennas and Odysseys with issues than their caravan owning friends. I see more neglect the big 3 cars because "they are just going to die anyway", which speaks volumes as to why things die. Also consider what is maintenance vs "major repair" between the companies. Labeling makes a huge difference in perception.

I suppose if you just want one car to do it all. Except that the Cherokee SRT8 is too uneconomical to be a true commuter/hauler (much better options for this). And it's not a sports car, unless you think driving a sports car is only about straight-lining. And please, spare me the speech about how this truck can corner better than this or that. Compare it to a decent sports car. Point is, why buy a sfork? Just buy a fork and a spoon.
@nappiral12 жыл бұрын
ahhh
@77rxpharmacy12 жыл бұрын
Touche. But I am looking at this from a practical point of view. The Cherokee is just too much car and it doesn't specialize in any one area. As for those idiots who are reckless out on the road, well they'll continue to do so no matter what they drive. But I understand that you think this truck is practical. Listen, it's not like I am totally blind to your side. I'm just saying, it's not for me for the reasons stated.
@8weapons12 жыл бұрын
well lets be honest here...how often do people track their sports cars? and this thing will hang with most sports cars in its price range, in a straight line anyway...and people that race a car round corners on public streets are just idiots. In regards to your analogy with the spoon and fork...dunno about you but the less hands and effort required to do something the better...and I dont have a garage that can fit 2 cars...one that does both is bliss

Decent engineering feat. But seriously, what the f is the point? People who own one do so because they simply want it, but even they must know that this car is completely awkward. If you want a fast car, go get a real sports car.
