This truck had road presence. At the time there was nothing else on the road like it. It was big, beautiful , a head turner and fast. When one of these pulled up next to you at a light. It would literally ruin your day. Because you knew once that light turned green, you weren't going to catch it. The new ones are nice and more refined. But there's just something about that generation SRT that had a certain je ne sais quoi.

@@DakotaRaymond1999 true it is forgotten, but that’s more Chrysler’s fault than anything because they never advertised it anywhere and never made a special “sporty” trim level for it and other than the tiny badge on the lift gate below the V8 emblem there’s no signs anywhere except for under the hood and the VIN that a WJs got the HO overlands are more for luxury. Yes, I had one of those with the 'upscale' Orvis Edition with extra, well, floor mats and a spare tire cover with Orvis written on them. Also, it had a factory 2-inch suspension lift which were spacers and a special 'Off Road Edition' sticker in the left rear window. I kept the spare tire cover to have a back pack made from it. Also, they had a hood scoop. Neat!
@Colorado_Native3 жыл бұрын
I still have my 2006 Jeep GC. The hood has styling reminiscent of a Jaguar with the way it slopes down and curves to cover the headlights. The styling is nice and clean - no fake scoops, flares, bends dents, huge grill (think BMW) or other overdone styling cues. It still looks good.

Decent review. No mention of All Wheel Drive, which besides the engine is the highlight of the car, and why it beats the SRT-8 Charger, 300, and Challenger 0-60 on the street any day rain or shine. Also, I think the interior is nice, and is 100 times better than anything made in the 90's (like my Full Size Bronco). Second thought: the interior quality is completely adequate, and probably what we should have. I'd certainly take this interior instead of the $20,000 price premium for the albeit nicer interior in the new Grand Cherokee. My home furniture isn't as nice as the stuff in new cars.

My take about the build quality of the WK: I cant say much about the WK SRT8, but my mother has a 2008 ('05 model year) WK (WH) 3.0 CRD with about 155.000 miles on it. And it has been bulletproof. No electrical issues, no engine issues, no transmission issues, not even any cosmetic issues or costly wear & tear. I hate that thing because it gets around 19mpg and is basically a slow boat, but it has been unbelievably reliable so far.

@ixionn5633 жыл бұрын
Keep the transmission fluid/filters changed on interval (usually something like every 50k) and the transmission will actually last. If that has the 545/45RFE transmission, they're practically bulletproof when maintained and not abused. People like to do the old "transmission fails" complaint on many vehicles but I rarely see the fluid changed on them regularly.

I had the CRD WK grand Cherokee limited in the UK and although it only had 218 bhp same body style. The Jeep powerdrive ll traction system was absolutely EXTRAORDINARY! My kid used to slam it around the fields in the snow trying to get it stuck.. it was a beast. Even with half the SRT's power it was plenty fast. The stereo was simple but the sound quality was unreal. Truly it was an awesome car. I paid about £3k for it and man was it a great investment. Then I bought a Commando. Quite a rare car here.
