Own 2018. I truly appreciate my little Spark. In Los Angeles California traffic, works well. 👍

Two months ago, I bought a Spark EV for my wife to commute to work. I would finally get to drive our 2013 Mazda 3. Trouble is, the Spark is a lot more fun that the Mazda, so my wife has to wrestle it away from me. It's the most fun car I've had since I sold my 1988 Porsche. It's also great that it will never need an oil change or any of the stuff that internal combustion engines need. It's pretty much maintenance free. One more thing, since the engine slows the car (a lot) when you let off the accelerator, the brakes will probably last forever. If only they would make a rear-wheel drive sport version.

TRY to HELP you you're making me want to get the Spark Ev even more! These little things are sleepers, I'd love to put a pair of sticky tires and strip some weight when I get one!

If Chevy channeled 400 ft-lbs of torque through the front wheels, the axle would explode. The power delivery is more gradual.

It's also geared really, really tall.

What to look for when buying an used spark EV and what's the best year to buy? Debating between spark EV, used leaf or new maverick ford hybrid truck.. By the way I drive around 50 mikes everyday a mix of highway and city driving

Why the extra tune ups and repairs? These will serve most of the population with a 90 mile range. Rent something for big road trips :)

My dream is to build a turbocharged 1.2 l Spark with the EV batteries and motor powering the rear wheels, making it an AWD hybrid car with +350 combined horsepower

so how fo you switch from ev to regular? does the engine kick in automatically when the power runs out? why cant anyone make a little engine that it's only job is to power the electric motor? sounds easy enough to me??? meh.
@cpufreak1017 жыл бұрын
victor diaz the spark EV is pure EV, and what you're thinking of is called a range extender. The BMW i3 has one as an option.

FYI google the Nissan Note e-power that a purely ICE powered EV (hybrid)...but chev had a REXV, the RIP Volt but its REX was larger and it battery pack was smaller...than what is in the I3

Torque doesnt always translate to acceleration.

Not with tiny tires, certainly. Put better rubber on this thing and it would fly.

Heated seats? Two tv's? How else would you like to waste electricity?
@djkenny12027 жыл бұрын
Blowers use a LOT more Electricity.
@TommyboyGTP5 жыл бұрын
heated seats and LED screens use much less electricity than you think.
