It's interesting that the people in this video that we're talking about buying the Yugo looked depressed and sad.

I had one and never had any issues with it at all, I've heard alot of ppl say they had problems with it. I must have been lucky and got a good car. It's what I learned to drive a stick with and it was fun to drive!
@calm360 Жыл бұрын
Its mostly because most people who bought the yugo in the us treated it badly because of the cheap price and serviced it rarely, but then wondered why it broke down

I heard that the Yugo, was a favorite among criminals in bad neighborhoods. It was frequently involved in push-by shootings.

Yugo dealers actually were able to charge over MSRP when they first came out and often had a boatload of dealer options like rustproofing....

Nothing badd? Lol this became the butt of many many jokes because of how terrible it was. That Suzuki built Chevrolet Sprint is probly still on the road while that you go probly didn't survive the month.

ones that were taken care of, nothing to extreme, basic oil changes and belt changes etc are still working fine. I know because I have one
@adrianshephard2242 жыл бұрын
Well you would be surprised how well Yugo cars held up overtime. It's a car based on Fiat 127 and pretty much everything is based on old proven FIAT technology. My father bought one in 1986 and it's still running just fine with 733189 kilometers on the ODO. The most important thing is oil change, Italian cars love chewing trough oil very fast. And as for body, in eastern Europe people would just gladly take a brush and a bucket of tar and paint entire bottom of the car (wheel arches included). No rust whatsoever. Few tricks n tips but most Americans were just lazy and didn't cared. That is why Yugo got a bad rap...

Only in America do people who never grew up in that era comment on how bad an over 30 year old car was.
