Great list! It looks like it can make 500,000 miles with this PM plan. May I humbly recommend something for your coolant system…. Amsoil Dominator Coolant Boost. I’ve been using it now in my last coolant flush on my Honda with what I perceive as great results. I’ll send a pic on email

Thanks for the tip! Coolant is on my mind, but I’m trying to stick with what the owner’s manual suggests. Haha unless there is a really compelling reason lol

@@MidwestF150I understand brother. I’m on same 500,000 mile path and always looking for ways to drive reliability into my Honda. 😊

@@HondaFarm307 I’ll dig around Ford forums to see what folks are saying about the Amsoil coolant. I’m just cautious about any aftermarket fluids because of my engine being turbocharged… but let me do some research!

Great call on start stop button I hate that “feature”, have you considered doing drain and refill of the coolant system there is a drain hole under the radiator? Doing a flush is ideal but I think if you drain some fluid and refill And do it every other oil change it would get out old coolant. What are your thoughts?

That’s funny you say that. I was wondering if I can get away doing exactly what you mentioned. But I wonder if it is thorough enough to rid the cooling system of sediment and dirt. I have considered doing something like this for the transmission since the particles are suspended in the oil, whereas with coolant idk if it works the same way. But I’m not a coolant expert lol 🤷♂️

@ I’ve been wanting to ask ford boss me, I think it would work better then not doing anything at all I don’t think it would hurt

I hate the start/stop feature lol. I installed a Autostop eliminator. Definitely worth the money

Do you know what the Phoenix Test Strips are specifically testing for? Acidity? Edit: I looked it up on Amazon. Tests coolant for acidity. Gotta get me those.

@@EvzenKovar-i5p mine comes in the mail tomorrow. I’m not sure what to expect to be honest, but it seems like the next best thing for me.

@ I looked at them on Amazon and the package says it’s a Ph test strip. I didn’t know this until recently, but coolant gets acidic with old age. Even if it shows it’s still protecting from freezing it can go bad due to this. Acidic coolant can eat away at gaskets… the primary important one here being the head gasket. Around the mid ‘00s Toyota started marketing their “Super Long Life” red/pink coolant. They also started omitting recommended coolant service intervals(and transmission intervals) from the service logs they gave to car buyers. There are two possible reasons they did this IMO. First, they no longer thought anyone would keep their vehicles longer than 5-7 years. Second, they got EPA credits for lessened waste from their buyers just like recommending 10K mile oil changes. Third, maybe they wanted the vehicle to fail so it would force a new car to be sold. Or maybe all thee above. I think a whole lot of car owners never change their engine coolant because of the marketing today. I think it generates a lot of major repairs that never happened before the modern car era.

Wow a lot of good info here, thanks so much for sharing! I agree with you on the environmental credit piece-I think the same can be said about manufacturer recommended oil change interval 🤷♂️
