Bob was fifty when he made this. Exactly half his life. He died in 2002. I crossed paths with Bob twice. Saw him on his USO tour in Korea in 1970 and at Seattle Paramount theater some twenty years later.

IF I remember correctly using the camera as a 3rd person was started with the Marx Brothers they used it quite often. Another one that used it often was Jerry Lewis it was also used by others. These types of movies are no longer made sadly made. It added a depth to the movies/shows as well as just a good comedic touch.

When this film was made, most people still had very little literacy about Bali. It is not surprising that there is very little to show Bali as a complete picture. They produce films in the studio

Frankly, I find this movie an insult to Bali. I spent quite a bit of time in Bali in the 1970s and 80s and found the people and the island mesmerising, interesting and kind. This film is a mockery and the acting is clumsy.
