Every tomahawk resolved, the only archtypes I saw you face was Six Samurai, Branded, and abyss actor. It’s really tough to get an impression on how good a deck is when you only show the perfect scenario.

I still think Tomahawk is awful for how open it leaves you and the inability to OTK with it if an opponent even ALLOWS you to use it for setup when going second, but what it gets used for going first isn't exactly healthy for a Bo1 ladder regardless. They could easily hit Nemeses Corridor and/or Cupid Pitch if enough people see the setup as a problem though, so it's just a matter of it not being either successful enough or at the topic of enough complaints. While not much can be done about the former, the latter is easily enough sent through their regular surveys.

Agreed. I like rulers, but I don’t think they’re going to be even remotely playable unless they’re all at 3, and we get some potential better rank 7’s for them to go into when going first.

Honestly what are you expecting from a "Dragon Ruler" deck in 2023? They haven't gotten any new support since release and don't have any interruption on their own, having to pivot into generic synchros/xyzs to get anywhere.

I have a tearlement dragon ruler build with grass that is super good unless I face someone who plays bystials try using dragon ravine + the level 7 tuner dragon that summons itself from grave + ancient fairy + tearlements field spell and tearlments can summon the second level 7 while milling a bunch for dragon ruler plays

Tbh most cards in that combo are unhealthy lol. Tomahawk or Auroradon, Chaos Ruler, and Cupid Pitch + Corridor + Collossus are all pretty toxic. Not that this deck in particular is too strong, but it either insta wins or just dies, which is no fun for anyone.

I am sincerely questioning what ARE the best deck performing in MD ? like kash is legit not dominant at all! 2 fenrir 1 field spell AND 1 prosp legit made the deck unplayable crazy enough lol they can have all arise heart they want since they dont see even the names or engines for it. I didnt see purrely so no idea how its performing? Lab is muh with no floodgates and Branded is still pain weirdly. Dragon link are the worst I feel like. and overall Maxx"c" is just a big issue lol.

Hot take: the deck is fine and the only cards that maybe need to be hit is chaos ruler and colossus. Every moans about tomahawk-auroradon but we havent had a deck that uses these be good enough to be meta since adventure tenyi. The deck dies to most forms of interaction going first and has limited plays going second, yet people are already crying for bans in the comments 🤡

Would love to see games that you break through an opponent's board going second than the standard uninterrupted going first combos. It is clear that many decks can do busted going first lines.

Nothing is going to get hit here. The deck is not good, pure Kashtira makes a better Tomahawk turbo deck and it's not the best way to run Kashtira. This deck's "powerful" turn 1 ends to a single handtrap...and there are a ton of obscure combo decks that can put up a ridiculous turn 1 board if they don't get interrupted.

They aren't going to hit this. I literally did the exact same thing last Duelist Cup just with less Rulers and Armed Dragon Thunders with Kashtira and was putting up more oppressive boards than you are in the video. Deck is just really vulnerable to hand traps, and this one would have a harder time cracking boards going second.

I would honestly say this is a better combo deck than mannadium. More consistent, better end board and better follow up. It is a bit more vulnerable to hand trap though

Not just that, but win the die roll and have your opponent open up with no handtraps. Seeing as this is one of those combos that gets destroyed by a single handtrap.

Thing is, people will ash/handtrap you on your Kash or baby rulers tho… Extend/punish that with a tomahawk after. If they have more handtraps, every deck will lose….

You know, i think it’s strange that every end board boss monster is the same, not knocking the really good end boards but I feel like archetypes such as dragons themselves lack their own end board boss monsters vs a tearlament archetype end board boss monster with it being backed up by their own archetype spell and trap negations. That’s a whole different conversation but the mecha extenders are really good for this deck build and I feel like they’re most definitely going to get hit sometime in the future.

I think a grindy version with floodgates focused on their ability to recur themselves easily, would be ideal with them at 3. You could slowly out-resource the opponent and them being big bodies helps with pushing for game.

Spell/Trap removal isn't too rare and lots of things can play under Skill Drain and summon a 3k monster
