While I understand that NMM are considered more "noble" for contests, I really think that nicely done TMM like you have already done have this less "cartoony" look that I prefer (on a personal note) Awesome paintjob as usual, and keep on with the soothing voice, it is very relaxing.

I think that contests like Golden Daemon are more about taking the techniques you are proficient at, and dialing them up as close to perfection as you can. Based on what you said in the video, I think go with TMM and make it really kick ass!

I've seen a few people paint TMM as though they were painting NMM and it look really really good, that being said I don't think those pieces were quite so extremely lit. I think it would be a struggle to make TMM work with your lighting as the environmental light and the room light will never be the same outside of you turning the room lights off and lighting it with color change LED's putting it on a turn table and turning on a fog machine. What might actually work in this lighting is graphite powder, there is a prop making channel called Create SciFi that will do metals by doing a gloss black undercoat and then rubbing on the graphite powder before varnishing and applying weathering, and while he goes fairly heavy with his application if you used that like you did for the smoke powder it might give a dark metal look that would preserve your environmental lighting. Obviously a test piece would be important to see if this would work before risking it on your project piece.

That is a very fair point indeed

I don't think GD judges are looking for NMM in particular, it's probably more contextual than that. Does it work for the model, how do the colors interact with the metallic paints, does it look realistic (if that's the general vibe of your mini), etc. Lately I've been seeing a lot of seriously impressive TMM stuff that I highly doubt would make GD judges raise their eyebrows

Thank you for the feedback. I am seriously thinking about doing some test runs on tmm vs nmm to see what I should go for

Whole heartedly agree... have tried it a bit... nothing that is even passable as cool looking metals as of yet
