Bring things to make you not car sick or when you do get sick stop at like a view point and rest for a bit I did this and it was bad but when you get to your destination it’s worth it

Did the day trip with a Toyota Corolla rental. No need for gas refill all day. I made a mistake of not bundling my ZipLine tour (early morning) on the same day so I ended up going to Hana route again (not as long) on separate day. I think the lava tube, black sand beach, and couple of the waterfalls were the highlights. Day trip can be done!

Yes to leaving early. My group of 14 didn’t leave till 11am! Then, we spent 1.5 hours at Wailua Falls that we didn’t get to see the Sacred Pools. Also.. we descended at 6ish and it was dark so It was a dark, scary drive! Also, take motion sickness patches, water shoes, towels, cash, and lots of water.

Great tips! It is hard to get going with a big group. The trick is to have a toddler that wakes up at 5 am. Then it is easy to start the Road to Hana early.

you should of mentioned tourist traps like twin falls if you are running short on time and bringing cash for local food trucks.

If you’re not the best driver, maybe consider the tour so you aren’t whit knuckling the drive. lol
