@davidvanryn 1 year ago I believe it was 1/4in (6.35mm) for the backing that actually screwed into the door. Anything thicker would've stuck out too much. For the bottom it was 1/2in (12.5mm)

If I did it again I would maybe see if I could use some sort of metal arms to make it sturdier but I'm not sure how I'd do that. Thanks for watching Geoff!

Got another question David -starting to cut wood now so getting serious! :-) I see how you used T nuts on the on the backing to attach the piano hinge...did you just use small nuts and bolts to attach the table top to the hinge? Thanks again buddy!

They're called T-nuts for wood. Most big home improvement stores have them!

What size rivet nuts did you use ?

That's a great question, I just checked my order history and I believe I used M5 rivet nuts for this project. If you're not certain you can use a measuring caliper to check the size of the hole. Hope that helps!
