Wahan Leher owned the middle warung helped out by Ni Njoman Sudi...who was still working there 18 years later in 2003 when I last visited. You could stay there although Indonesian being a militiary dictatorship under General Suharto back then, foreigners could only stay in designated tourist digs. He tool a bit of a risk. Local foreigners stored their 9' and 10' guns in his roof. When the swell cranked up to 15' plus, they'd show up and get amongst it. None of your tow-in nonsense lol.Thanks for the post. I still remember staying overnight out there in the warungs, sleeping in our board bags, with the old kerosene lamps on. (1986) Those were the days! And Sudi was still working there last time I visited, about 6 years ago... not sure if I wanna go back now... 😞

Simon Law owns a Surfboard and accessories Shop at Salamander Bay just North of Newcastle. I brought a Bum Bag off him 5 months ago and the Zipper went in it yesterday and I’m not driving for a hour for another one…..
