One thing that always helped us lock in new grinds back in the day was doing it into an unwaxed ledge first. Hit it over and over as a stall. Gives you more time to look down at your feet and make adjustments to build the muscle memory. We would keep hitting stalls all day until we got them locked in perfectly every time

Man, that p-star fall would have taken me out for a week, I hate it when my legs split like that! Great job sticking to it and pushing to get it. Hang in there!

yeah those type of bails are the worsee, I'm still feeling it a little bit but once I'm warmed up everything is okay, I've been pretty lucky all things considered though, 220lbs slamming into the pavement isn't the best situation but I do what I can to minimize it! the heat has been ending my sessions early lately, and I would be able to skate longer with no pads, but its not worth the risk. Glad I did, because I was thinking about not wearing my pads for a few of these sessions where I take big slams. that would have been bad lol

nice video if i could make a suggestion for the unity, try facing the obstacle more like you're doing a front side. That way your grooves will line up better with the coping.
@inlineonline3 ай бұрын
yeah I really struggle with that for some reason, I thinks its because the way I learned unity was to think of it as a Pstar and just turn my front foot
@andrewpasiak73663 ай бұрын
That’s a great point! I’m sure you’ve stalled the unity a bunch just tweak those shoulders and you’ll have it 100%. You’re doing great keep it up!

@@andrewpasiak7366 I actually haven't, I really don't do stalls much at all lol I know I know everyone says you have to stalll things first but I think Ive come to terms with learning things a little bit differently than standard haha I'm positive stalling the unity will help though, so I'll give it a shot! I just can't force my shoulders to turn its so frustrating

Topsides arent fun (for me) ive always wanted to have em on regular ledges without coping but the lock spot for topsouls and fishbrains are ridic. I can top acid ledges though, and occasionally alley top star, kind and sweaty. Top soul for me is an odd position to get comfy in. I was working on them on a round rail a month or so back and I never felt confident to spin out.

yeah its a tricky position, I've gotta spend more time on it before its comfortable

What brand of knee pads and elbow pads are you using?
@inlineonline3 ай бұрын
Fox pads I have links to them in the bottom of the video description, highly recommend them. They have motorcycle level padding AND a removable hard shell on top for sliding down transition and extra protection. Or you can take off the hard part for a more low profile fit and you still have the D3O motorcycle level protection
