I guess you had to be there. The cutscenes alternated when you started the game and that always somehow amazes me to this day. How the hell did they do that? The selection of cars was so quintessentially 90’s and looking back all the cars chosen were the right pick or that era. Yes, It was rough around the edges but it will forever be my favourite NFS game.

Some of the clips definitely appear to have been shot in BC and the cars seem to have fake BC plates (the only legible number, on the yellow RX7, is ABQ 222 on a standard baseplate, which was not a possible combination in reality). Several cars (namely the NSX, Supra and Viper) are definitely Canadian market models as they have Canadian spec daytime running lights; Toyota only started using DRLs stateside circa 1997, Honda circa mid-2000s, and Chrysler around the same time but only for fleet vehicles (their US consumer models were delivered with the DRL feature disabled until much later). The Corvette would have been the only car that came with DRLs stateside.
