Love your channel! This vid takes me back to middle school walks down Camp from Valence to Foucher. Scenic gem of town that I always cherish those memories meeting mom to stroll home and back circa 1998-1999

3:10 is 544 Camp St., New Orleans, Louisiana. This was the location of Guy Bannister’s office, as well as the office of Sergio Aracha Smith and his group the “Cuban Revolutionary Democratic Front”. The events at this location involved six individuals, five of which were very familiar with each other.

Looks like the office was originally at 403 Camp before moving to 544.

Lucky me! To have found YOU!! I am, as I commented in another 504 video, honored to be 'NOLAN by marriage", and next year hubby and I will be leaving NYC, moving back. The map at the beginning of each vid-trip sets up, and established where we are, and where we'll be going. I feel like I'm in the car, beside you. Cool!!!

The map at the start of this video shows why it was called “The Crescent City.” The sprawling one story housing vista is due to no planning boards, while pronunciations are hilarous. The snobbish French accent does not exist: Marigny= Muh - RIG- uh-knee Chartres= CHARTERS St. Louis= Saint Looey Fontainebleau= Fountain-blow The most interesting street name is English Turn.

I notice a lot of clapboard siding on the homes in the Garden District. Do they have a problem with termites in New Orleans as we do here, in Florida?

We call it "weatherboard" here, but yes, we do have termites. Gotta keep everything under contract here and get those annual inspections and treatments. That type of siding is pretty standard on all of the old houses in New Orleans, is usually made of cedar, and in any historic district, it can't be replaced with anything more modern like vinyl or aluminum.
