Stadium Drive @ 12:10! My sister and I made this trip with our dearly departed grandmother so many times during our childhood visits to Grambling in the 1970s and 1980s! Going to Ruston was "going into town"! Love it!

I grew up in Ruston, and it’s still a lovely place to visit for family and friends. Thanks for the road trip:)

It's nice to see some, even just a little, fame for Ruston. It Isn't known to many and doesn't appear on the map unless you zoom in on the overlapping bridges. So it's nice to see this.

I went to la tech from 75 to 79 and I walked along and lived on west California avenue or us 80. I only had $10 weekend budget for food so I would go to griffs hamburger on a Friday night and I still see their sign in the video, which is hard to believe.

I attended La. Tech during those same years and worked at Griff's for a few months in 1977. Remember 30 cent hamburgers all day on Tuesdays?

I love most of your videos, but the camera was pretty bouncy for this one.

Yeah, the mount loosened up on the camera during this trip, and the roads weren't particularly good, so you get a little shudder every time there's a crack in the pavement. I've since modified the mount (lots of super glue) and fixed that problem, but it's probably going to be this way over the next few videos, or until the roads are smoother. I may try to stabilize Sunday's video and see if it helps without causing that seasick motion that stabilization tends to cause. Thanks for watching!

That sounds good. I know how the roads in Louisiana are. I used to live there. I live in Mississippi now, and there are a lot of road issues here too. I have dozens of your videos in my Road Rides playlist.

be nice history of Grambling itself was added to this. It is more than Eddie Robinson and football. No community, no school.

Well not much on highway 80 but it’s one of Louisianas bigger towns, and definitely one of its more cleaner and progressive cities. Not sure to call it a town or city, it’s definitely big enough to be a city but it feels like a nice small town.
