I loved living in Port Sulphur. It was one of the times in my life that I will always cherish. It’s really good to see it cleaned up but everything is changed. It’s almost like there’s nothing left.

Only thing bad about Louisiana is the Mosquitoes, Gnats and those Jet Fighter Bugs (Horse Flies)

Born & raised in Port Sulphur , was a great place to live - long as you could put up with them Biting Bugs :) The place is looking 100 times better than the last trip I made down that way.

It’s slowly getting back to normal, but so many people left, never to return. I don’t think it’ll ever be the same as it was before Katrina.

You correct, but the Memories will always be there. I probably would have rebuilt there if not for the Corrupt Insurance Companies.....@@504RoadTrips

You've got that right. My homeowner's company wanted $12,000 this year! And I"m in 70056. I was able to get insured for around $6,500, but I suspect if a major hurricane comes through, they're not going to pay for anything.

Don't ever get "Like a Good Neighbor", they ripped off THOUSANDS of Homeowners after Katrina@@504RoadTrips

We had no problem with "Like a Good Neighbor" after Katrina. They cut us a check for around $80,000. Had a tree through the roof and water damage in one of the bedrooms, plus other miscellaneous damages like fences down and a couple of broken window panes. The house was in my dad's name at the time, as was the insurance. After he died, State Farm wouldn't write a policy because I hadn't been continuously insured with them. So I went with Dover Bay. They're the one that doubled the rate last year. So now I'm with Kin, which is a surplus line. The only way to get decent insurance for a decent price is to move north of I-12. And I really don't want to do that.

Born and raised, Well born in NO, but probably made it DTR within a few days.I left for the most part a while ago. Still visited, but not in a while. I hear the traffic is getting really bad in Bellle Chasse. We never beat them when I played.
@504RoadTrips6 ай бұрын
The traffic is all due to the replacement of the old Perez Bridge and Tunnel. Once they get the new bridge opened in both directions, it'll either relieve all of the congestion, or all of the traffic will shift to DeGaulle because people don't want to pay the toll on the new bridge.
