I can see it now. Chef and Elin going town to town fixing Triumphs, William Tell Overture on the radio . . . now where did we put those masks ? But seriously, thanks to Chef for taking the pains to make a very useful video for all of us TR do it yourselfers out there. We really do appreciate your efforts to communicate all of the detail. This is my favourite of all the TR range. The beauty of the TR4 with the grunt of a TR6. In britain the TR250 was fuel injected and badged as a TR5 and are , by far, the most collectable and most valuable. Love 'em and so glad you're saving this one.

I must say that Skip has a few beauties there , well done to him and well done to friendship! All the very best and good luck for the future , all the way from County Durham, England, UK . I was wondering when you'd be using the come-along and thank you for showing me a use for my trucker's ratchet strap. I don't mind cutting and welding in new patches but I'll always be reluctant to pull out bad areas. Many thanks for this vid!
@cheftush
@cheftush Жыл бұрын
Yes, we had to “ upgrade” to the come along and the tree as we couldn’t get enough pull with just the ratchet straps…we actually used a larger 2 inch strap as well to concentrate on specific areas that were problematic.

Wow, you two guys are truly amazing! And what a productive weekend. Well done on all fronts, from the workmanship to the kindhearted Canadian friendship. I hope we see Skip in that TR250 this September on the 6Pack TRails run to Indiana PA. I am so looking forward to that and to get to know you all better. There is something very special about this TR community, and you Chef and Elin are at the forefront. Well done! 👍

We’d like to see Skip with his TR250 at the TRials this year but we aren’t going to pressure him in any way. He still has a ton of work to do in order to get the car painted. We will see him regardless as he’s got a couple of other TRiumphs to choose from!

@@skipgould1780 No problem ! I was surprised to see an old-style round "Globe" badge on the bonnet / hoood of the car instead of the 60s blue and white shield design but it seems Triumph came up with a special variation of the older "Globe" style badge for the TR4A ? Does yours have the simplified US market live axle rear suspension ?
@skipgould1780
@skipgould1780 Жыл бұрын
@@johnmoruzzi7236 That badge replaced the shield/book badge with all the TR4As. The red 4A you saw here has the live rear axel rather than the IRS (Independant rear suspension)

Nice work und very good replace of the body.Skip can be proud to have this kind of friends. If I see the problem with the a post I thought, is there not a tree in the garden. I don´t know was the english name but in german we say a Dozzer for work on this spezial parts to pull out the body. It works wth air pressure.

Another Great Video, Chef and Elin. Can you show details on lift and little details on clamps for holding panels in place to weld pls
@cheftush
@cheftush Жыл бұрын
Hi John, the little “clamps” are called Clecos. If you google them, it will give you some more information. A small pilot hole needs to be drilled through the two adjacent panels…the Clecos are spring loaded and the head expands when the spring tension is released to keep the panels clamped together. Did you want more information about Skips 4 post lift as well?

Hi Dave, Did Skip build the cars in his superb collection or buy them already restored?
@skipgould1780
@skipgould1780 Жыл бұрын
I built the TR250 and my 61 TR4, I bought the 75 TR6 and did a rolling restoration on the 66 TR4A. The white TR6 was found in near original condition last October and I have been refreshing it's systems since then (it had been parked 39 years earlier in a garage)

@@skipgould1780 Your’s is certainly one of the nicest personal collections I’ve seen (apart from Dave’s of course!) I’m a sucker for his white TR with the Surrey top, but my absolute favourite is his 250 for two specific reasons, the intake grills on the front fenders and his superb choice of rims. Greetings from Berkshire in the U.K. 🇬🇧
