U should always check reviews before booking a hotel because once u reach the destination it’s difficult to go around searching for hotels so late after long tiring day with kids. Plz check the review and try to keep a copy of everything saved in the phone before travelling. Only in some places they ask for so many stuff for verification so it’s better to carry it on mobile.

actually we are spoilt in luxury abroad. India mei even though internet is very cheap lekin hotels wifi is vv bad. Also they treat nris.. aapne oci ki baat kari na, to get a simcard if you are not in your domicile state u cant get Indian simcard. I went to kerala im December 2022.wahan pe airport se sim lena chaha.. they said u need local residence address otherwise u cant purchase simcard. and jis hotel mei reh rahe the we didn't get wifi.. for 4 days we were stuck without wifi im the hotel. And that was also 4 star hotel apartment

We stayed at oberoi in Agra they didnt ask anything for kids . Even we didn’t have an Indian ID . But it was smooth . We stayed at other simple hotels for rajasthan trip they wanted what not 😂🤣 chikoos reaction in the rickshaw was exactly like my younger ones reaction 😂🤣❤️

If u dnt have indian id , all hotels in india ask for oci and passport ,i believe they have to fill a form which is req by liu or local police station , i had same issue last time .

You have to take prior approval from school and we requested home work and assignments for kids which school agreed to. It depends on school and kids performance in class.

I would talk to them next time we plan a vacation. When kids were in lower classes we never bothered missing school but now they have so much going on in class that we fear if the child will lag behind.

Very common in India especially when someone feels they have authority. I was taking flight to Canada via US. The flight check in person at Delhi asked me where is your return ticket. I was like I am going to Canada via US. He then asked me where is your ticket to Canada. What is your status in Canada. I was like really pissed off. I was taking that flight only till US and 2 days later I had a different flight. Why does he care about my Canadian status when I am not even taking his flight to Canada and have valid US visa? And when I entered US, immigration officer didn't ask me anything. I told "going to Canada after 2 days", no questions.

India has this ID rule at hotels thanks to unwanted elements staying in hotels and then hotel owners are answerable .. criminals, terrorists, etc. So they have to be stringent if any untoward incident may happen .. they’re even stringent when it’s 15 aug or 26 jan .. when threat levels are high !!

Why the rules came into picture technically in India and especially the hotels is after the terrorist attacks. Especially in cities with important monuments it's compulsory. Because of the threat and they have to verify foreign nationals and verify Indians too Because terrorists can use fake ids to check in and cops will hold hotels responsible.

This hotel BS in India is not just related to terrorism. In 2021, I had a job interview scheduled and on that day there was a loud music going in my neighborhood. So I booked a hotel in my tier 2 city, and the hotel owner said we don't let locals stay in hotel, even for the day. When I told them I would check out anyway by 6 PM. I would love to see how you relate this to terrorism. Or maybe now you would say Sex terrorism between couples.
