Lighter fluid works great with any sticker and it doesn't stain any part of the cover. It dries clear also. Great Video J.T.! Enjoy My Friend!!!!!

Pretty cool store, and Rocket Records around the corner is awesome as well. Tower started in Sacramento, always expensive with some bargains here and there. We miss Tower Records out this way.. My good friend Ted was a Mgr. there. Thanks, Dan !

I’ve discovered using a hairdryer is the best way to remove those stubborn price stickers. Goo gone tends to leave stains. Make sure to take your record out of the jacket first😉

I like to patronize record shops. Although I can always tell where they get their used records ! Thrifting and 2nd hand shops along with meeting people that will sell you their records is way closer to the source of getting quality vinyl IMO. Brian.. this copy of New Morning is noisy.. will spin clean it soon, and I'll be looking for an upgrade, probably thrifting ! Haha 🙂

Nice video, JT. As another commentator said, the lady with Dylan was Victoria Spivey; best known for 'TB Blues'. As for stickers on sleeves; I usually use lighter fluid. It normally works but depends on the glue they used originally.

12 x 5 is awesome.. The Mono will be a way better sounding record. I only paid 14.00 for this one. It will do for now. Just walked in form Bill's, I picked that KISS Alive ! And glad I did.. The jacket doesn't look great, but the 2 records sound pretty amazing, and I see why you guys always mention how good it is ! 🙏

always liked the cover art of that Rascals album. as for price stickers that stuff occasionally drives me nuts. there used to be a record store around here that put the sticker not only on cover but on vinyl label inside.

Right.. I'm used to getting them off, and I proposed that question to see what others use. I use goo gone on glossy jackets, and lighter fluid with a q tip.. 5 minutes, and it should pull off. Sometimes you have that dreaded discolored square after removing the sticker ! Another reason Cd's are easier to manage.. plastic jewel cases, no problem !

I think in the 60s you were required to do a version of Hey Joe, crazy how many renditions there are of that. I do love the early blues from Rolling Stones. I just did not like there version of Under The Boardwalk. Loved the scenery over the mountains, very beautiful. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family

Great finds and store JT. Sometimes leaving the sticker on is by far the best choice. I' ve ruined some covers by using the pro's methods. Its really knowing what kind of paper/cardboard the cover is made of, along with the kind of sticker/adhesive used. Some covers have a thin shrink like coating that will allow any liquid to leech / bleed through. Thanks for sharing.

Exactly ! Every word you said is the horrible sticker truth ! Haha 👍 The little one on my 12× 5 Stones album is as you described, and if I ever sell it ( not just yet ) 14.98 is a good starting point for that particular pressing. I'm daring to do a top 10 bands/ artists of all time and rank them, which isn't my usual mindset. What do you think, Walter ?

That was the biggest winter ever.. 1846 ! Very unlucky for the Donner Party to arrive late to this very same passage as interstate 80. 15 to 20 feet of snow accumulated in a short period of time. They couldn't stay in what is now Reno.. The Natives would have picked them off one by one before Christmas, they had to go ! 12x5 is great to have, and I picked up a UK white cover Beggars Banquet that sounds amazing ! Did you notice my broken camera ?

Used to drive from Reno to Sacto and head up Watt Avenue and there was a Tower Records store, and nearby a Tower book and magazine store, and then back up the road, a Tower import store. Several hours of fun each trip.

I used to go to Sacto fairly often but since Dimples stores closed (they gave the most generous trade in value) I haven't been. I have to trade records to get new ones because of no room. I'm sure I would enjoy Kicksville again. Been there once.

That country between Reno and Sacremento is one of my favorite stretches of freeway, beautiful country. I imagine the Donner party would not have agreed to that. Very interesting looking record store with a unique layout. Really loving their selection. I admit I don't know hardly anything about Fever Tree, I'll have to check them out. You definitely do want a mono copy of "12x5", much better sound. I'm jealous about The Seeds record, I can't seem to find anything from them and I've been searching for a long time. Great haul!

The stretch from Reno to Sacramento is pretty.. But treacherous ! From the Nevada state line to Truckee..Is one of the most hairy parts, and I'm a good snow driver ! Trucks throwing rocks and slush up from their wheels, and narrow passes between vehicles.. Crazy !

I live right up the road in Roseville and didn’t even know this shop existed. So thanks so much for posting this. And just to be picky, “Old Sacramento” normally refers to the two block touristy area of shops and eateries just to the West side of I-5, a few blocks away. But this shop is definitely in an older part of town. By the way, if you ever have the time, the town of Rocklin, right next to Roseville, has two nice vinyl shops, The Audio Nerd, and Hi Tone Records.

I know.. I could edit " Old Sacramento" out of my vid, and I will.. I do most of my videos in one take. It just came out ! My Grandma lived on T Street, and I used to go to The Beat quite a lot. We were back in West Sacramento for Thanksgiving ( two trips in 2 weeks ). I also typed in " 80 east when I was traveling west, and I shot this with a broken camera ! Thanks for the correction..☺️

For stickers I use two options: a hair dryer to heat up the glue and lighter fluid to remove excess glue. Lighter fluid is less likely to leave a stain compared to Goo Gone and it evaporates right away. (I learned of the lighter fluid tip from Rob at The Waxed @theboomerscalper )

Excellent method, although that sticker on my Stones album will leave a discolored little square because of the nature of that type of paper. Thanks for suggesting this technique, I have used it before.. It's an excellent method.

Hi JT. Kicksville looks like a nice shop ... Do you know Jad Fair (4 mins 30)? I saw him live a couple of times backed by the Pastels. He also did an under-rated album with Teenage Fanclub. There should really be a music documentary made about Jad Fair/Half Japanese ... It's Victoria Spivey, blues singer/songwriter, on the back of the 'New Morning' sleeve. What a marvellous photo! ... I love 1960s Bee Gees. The only band that came close to the Beatles.

Oh Geez.. We are still trying to figure that out.. We ate at the Thai Temple off of South Street off of the Norwood exit.. Jum is Thai, and they had a huge festival right before our trip to Kicksville. Next time, we will go to Tower Cafe ( never been ) on Broadway near 14th Street. Happy Thanksgiving, Richard.

@waltbromby Absolutely.. They built a Tower listening room in Brooklyn, N.Y. It was cool going to Tower in Shibuya, Tokyo.. and many were surprised by the several Tower Record stores in Japan when I filmed it last year ! My good friend managed the Reno store from 1995 until its closing in 2004.

I looked it up.. Interesting ! I wouldn't search out that mine, as I working in mining in 2011 on top of the ground ! Haha.. Underground stuff is pretty sketchy.
