Every 25th November to 10th December is #16DaysofActivism by the #UnitedNations.
To commemorate International Day of elimination of violence against women and beginning of #16daysofactivism I spoke extensively on unleashing the power of stories to promote community action against Female Genital Mutilation-FGM at the #StopCutProject conference organised by HACEY Health Initiative in Oyo state, Nigeria.
My audience included religious leaders, young Activists, Some GMC graduates, government officials, representatives of Ministries of Health, Justice, Women, Children and Social Affairs of South west states of Nigeria just to mention a few.
It was worthy of emphasis to discuss the flexible funding scheme of The Global Media Campaign to end FGM through Direct Action Grants and how we have funded more than 500 Activists across 8 African countries to amplify their voices against FGM not ignoring the successful grassroot projects I have championed young leaders to carry out against FGM through Initiative for Girls'Rights and Health Development-IGRHD
