Florence, your comment touched me. It must be amazing to hear your dad's voice but heartbreaking at the same time. I so hope you take comfort from knowing the man he was and what he has achieved.

What I may add without knowing the inns and outs is it seems like your dad was very well worked but not sure if he was as well paid for his efforts. Damn he was a work horse and fantastic at his job. I just hope he got the recognition he truelly deserved.

You know the video is old when they're using Easton sticks. I'd love to have that bag though. Probably $25,000 worth of sticks in one bag. What a dream job for those that got sidelined from making it to the show or anyone that just loves being around hockey.

My heart breaks thinking about his last thoughts before he took his own life. He had a great job, but boy is it demanding as hell. I hope it wasn't his job, but demon that is depression, etc. that caused his death. RIP Clint.
@rightcoast70495 жыл бұрын
It really is so sad. It's a demanding job, and you're catering to guys making at minimum 10 times the salary as you. It has to take an extremely special person to not be jealous. Regardless of the reason, he's at peace now. I hope his wife and kids are ok. It's been years, but that's something that you can never fully heal from.

In the NHL sphere money is not really an object. Sharpening tool-grade steel is ... slap it on a grinder and go. Great ... eh .... but that grinder is ruining your tool-grade steel. Once your ruin your tempered steel with a grinder you are destined for new steel before the season is out. The steel on the high end skates is oil-cooled (quenched) while the steel is in the Martensite phase. Once you run good steel across a grinding wheel you literally rip steel from the blade causing incredible friction heating, locally, ruining the blade's temper several millimeters from the surface. The result? A quickly dulling edge not suitable for NHL service. Not an advertisement ... but you fellas need an edge. Try hand sharpening with a device such as "The Profiler", a total solution hand sharpening system. I've been using it for almost a decade and find my runners last 500% longer than ground blades. I even dropped a skate on concrete and hardly saw any damage. Tool steel rocks.
