I have 4 weber grills and the go anywhere charcoal is my absolute favorite. It's so easy to handle and all the after market nifty accessories they make for it. I also have the propane version and that thing is super sweet as well. I prefer charcoal when ever I have the time and place to use it. These go anywheres has a good cultural following .

Hey Rando, you crazy desert dweller! Long time. We're doing well up here in the northeast. It's getting cold so had to shut the cottage down for the winter. Got some of the last grilling videos of the season in the hopper, just need to edit them together. Hope all is well. Cheers ma!

Nice wings. One thing great about the WGA is you cook more appropriate portions with a modest amount of fuel. I have the WGA gas and charcoal grills, plus an Onlyfire rotisserie for each. (The gas gets too hot for a rotisserie though, but the riser comes in very handy.) I once had a Smokey Joe, but much prefer the WGA. My Jumbo Joe is very nice too, preferred over my WGA’s.
@GallaghersGrub Жыл бұрын
I haven't tried a Jumbo Joe, but would like to get one to compare to the WGA. I tried the Smokey Joe many years ago, but have heard it's not nearly as good as the Jumbo. I'll probably pick up a JJ in the spring for video's sake. Cheers Rick!

Oh wow. Nice setup. Dad and son and a decent BBQ. You did great. Hint for chicken wings: in Weber‘s Grill Bible vol 2, Jamie Purviance, they provide a great idea for super crispy wings. Baking soda - salt - pepper (1-1-0.5) over night in the fridge Give it a try - you won’t regret it. If you need more info about that, let me know. Did you ever try the Smokey Joe on a trip? Btw my pork roast video is out, if you want to have a look. Thanks for taking us with you on that road trip Can’t wait for part 2 Best regards Dee

I've done that trip (only in reverse from New London to Orient) great ride on the ferry and it's cool seeing the submarine base there. Wondering , how long did you cook those wings?
@GallaghersGrub Жыл бұрын
The Cross Sound Ferry is pretty cool, especially if you don't feel like driving all the way down to the Throgs Neck or Whitestone Bridge. As far as the wings, I usually cook them for about 40 minutes, depending on how hot the grill is running.

Was that a full chimney of coals? If so that fit perfectly into the Weber!
@GallaghersGrub Жыл бұрын
This is actually a compact chimney, about half the size of a regular chimney. Here's the link. amzn.to/3MF7qa0

Be careful. Start eating wings all the time and you could turn into an American. You'll start calling football, soccer. And that's just the beginning. Cheers Stuart!
