back in the 80's I drove a DeLorean for around 6 months, and came to the conclusion that the shock absorber for the front end was between the steering wheel and the back of the seat.

I’ve had a Delorean since ordering it in 1980 and taking delivery in 1981. Still have it today. Yes, Delorean problems. Motor needs a rebuild, 5th gear has been gone for 20 years and those hot starts. We have a lot to do and you’ll always be working on this car forever.

When I was a kid I bought an integra at an auction and drove it 18 months without ever having a working speedometer. It was a 5 speed and I'd either gauge speed from the other vehicles on the road with me or if I was by myself just stick to whatever gear made sense. Eventually I was rear ended and made out really well with an insurance claim

The Delorean speedometer is driven by a cable to the front wheel there is and angle drive thats most likely broken my dad used to have to replace his like every other year or so.

My country (Finland) is so small that a maximum travel from the southernmost point to the northernmost point is about 718 miles (1157 kilometres). So... to do the 1000 miles trip would require me to drive lots of side roads. 🙂

Try the Netherlands, The longest distance i could travel within the country itself is North to South (or the other way around) which is around 334 Kilometres, (around 207 Miles)

@@Anthony-rv3hr Makes me wonder how much he nabbed this one for with the problems. Guessing around $20k-25K or he might have gotten a good deal on it. Hope he really goes through it when he mods it. Another comment said he is going to use the new GM electric crate conversion kit that is coming out. For sure that could have some great weight distribution bias if a lot of the electronics and batteries are in the front. No more heavy ass which causes them to fishtail. Did you see the fully autonomous electric Delorean from a few years ago that was built at Stanford? That thing was drifting and burning rubber like you wouldn't believe.

So, as I've learned with my first gen Pathfinder, your fuel gauge is just old and climbing slow, is just an effect of it sitting, but as long as the fuel pump operates just fine, then I wouldn't worry. If the problem persists, I'd bet it's just something on the dash needs to be cleaned.

Chris you need a power probe, its a dc tester that also sends the voltage directly from the battery to the load you are trying to test. So you can pull a panel and put power directly to the motor itself. Not sure if you have one already, but it makes electrical diagnosis a lot easier on a simple 12v system like a car. Cant wait to see more awesome video of this amazing car build!

I've driven one. They are soooooooo slow. Battery goes flat too easily too as the alternator doesn't output enough to keep it charged easily.

Plus, the first time I seen that electric converted autonomous Delorean drifting around that track years ago on a YT video it really opened my eyes that it is the future and will give amazing performance gains.

Owned my early vin D for 20 years and put in about $25 grand including upgrades basically replacing ANYTHING that fuel or electricity touches. That said, I still have that "pause" every single time I start the car. Also every time I hear a sound, hit a bump..... I have that same "pause" where my brain thinks.. " Was that a problem?". True for most vintage/ exotics but the Delorean is especially in need of a exorcism.

You can contact DMC motors in Texas, they have every part and complete upgrade kits for those cars. You can even buy a brand new one from them, with a NEW engine and all upgraded electronics.

The only DeLorean dealer and parts factory is the United States is in Humble, Texas, 20 miles northeast of Houston, next to the big airport. It's also the birthplace of Howard Hughes and Exxon. Funny how the past and the future meet within 5 miles there. Anyway, they have a factory full of original DeLoreans as well as reconditioning and repair.

at in-n-out, I always get grilled onions on my cheeseburger. if you order grilled onions inside the store, it takes forever, but if you order them in the drive-thru, it doesn't take any extra time.
